HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 279th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll be again be taking a look at one of The Gundam Base’s recent Gunpla release announcements. Yes, we are quite surprised to see that The Gundam Base has another kit coming next week besides the MG Zaku Warrior variant that we talked about previously. 

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we? 

HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam (Beyond Global) The Gundam Base Ver.

Release Date: March 2021

This particular announcement took us quite a bit of time to realize that this is a new Gunpla announcement. We at first thought that this was a re-release kit up until we decided to take a closer look at it. 

You might be wondering why did we struggle to realize that this is a new release? Well, there is a good reason for that because previously, The Gundam Base released the Clear Version of the HG Beyond Global. So, we assumed that as we saw this, we thought they were referring to that version. 

Only after taking a closer look only then, we realized that this isn’t the same version. It is a slightly different version then to what we’ve seen before.

So what is the difference between this and the retail variant, you ask? Well, for one, it comes with the familiar ‘Gundam Base’ blue and white color scheme. Secondly, they as well included some customized stickers for use on this version. But even with that said, this is basically the same kit as the retail version. So, if you’ve built the retail version, you’ll find that this is just the same thing, albeit in a different color scheme. 

Honestly, even though we know that it is just a recolored version of the standard HG Beyond Global, we admit that we like what we see here. Because honestly, somehow they managed to make this looked better than the standard version. 

Yes, we find it quite funny that we found ourselves quite taken by this version more than the standard version. That is especially when you consider that we were not fans of Beyond Global’s design. So, good job, The Gundam Base, for making us finally interested in getting an HG Beyond Global kit.

So, yeah, you can safely say that we are interested in getting this. But that is as long as we could get our hands on one. Because with the current pandemic that is currently still happening, it might take some time for us to find a way to get one. 

Anyways, that concludes our 279th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Honestly, we were surprised to find ourselves coming back this soon to talk about another The Gundam Base kit release. We really didn’t expect to see another Gunpla release so soon after they announced the MG Zaku Warrior (Live Concert Ver.).

But we’re still waiting for the retail side to announce more Gunpla kits. We do find it quite strange that there is still no new news on new Gunpla releases. Hopefully, we would hear more from them soon enough.
