Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.280

Just another very expensive and rare Unicorn

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 280th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at P-Bandai’s newest Gunpla release announcement. However, today we will be looking at something that is a tad bit unconventional, and not to mention, expensive.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Real Experience Model RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (AUTO-TRANS Edition)

Release Date: November 2021
Estimated price: JPY 55,000 (MYR RM 2,067.93* / USD $ 507.59* / EUR € 425.97*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the Gundam MS designs that we’ve seen throughout the years, the Unicorn is one MS design that Bandai seems to have a real hard-on on up to this day. Because it seems that every single year since its inception without fail, we would see Bandai release one new Unicorn kit.

However, nothing that we’ve seen up to this point manages to look as insane as this, Real Experience Model Unicorn.

Why? Well, there are two good reasons for it.

For one, this will be one of the biggest Unicorn gunpla kits that we’ve seen that’ll requires some assembly, and secondly, it comes with a prebuilt automatic motorized transformation system. Hence the name AUTO-TRANS.

Yes, from both the trailer and the promotional materials that we go through, they did mention that this kit would come with a working transformation system. But that is not the only thing that it comes with, because this kit also comes with a LED system and a simple audio player.

So that as well means that while it transforms, it would as well play some iconic lines from the movie while at the same time light up as it converts itself from the Unicorn mode to the Destroy mode.

Admittedly that doesn’t sound all that appealing to us if we were, to be honest. But at the same time, we can understand why some people might be interested in getting it.

But even with that said, we do think that this is one pretty fascinating Gunpla kit. However, due to its insane asking price and the fact that P-Bandai would release this in limited quantities, this is one of those Gunpla kits that we can imagine that most of us won’t be getting any time soon.

Although, admittedly, we imagine all them scalpers being the only ones that’ll be getting their hands on it first.

Anyways, that concludes our 280th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Honestly, we are quite surprised that P-Bandai decided to go through with releasing this. Not to mention, we were quite surprised to see that it does come with alot more stuff than we expected.

Because when we saw the reveal a few months back, we thought that all that it’ll be getting is a lighting system. We really didn’t expect it to come equipped with a motorized transformation system.

So, yeah, this is quite an impressive work there, P-Bandai.

Anyways, we will be back again next coming Tuesday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!
