Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.282

The ultimate F91 set.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 282nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at P-Bandai’s two latest Gunpla release announcements. Interestingly enough, the two kits here are MS’s from the same Gundam series. But unfortunately enough, they’re kits that we’ve seen before only given a new fresh batch of paint.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

RE100 1/100 XM-07 Vigna Ghina (Titanium Finish) (REBORN-ONE HUNDRED)

Release Date: July 2021
Estimated price: JPY 7,040 (MYR RM 265.10* / USD $ 64.47* / EUR € 54.08*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Vigna Ghina is one of those MS designs that we kind of wish that it had gotten an MG treatment or a proper HG or RG one. But regardless, it is one of those Gunpla kits that we appreciate that at least Bandai was nice enough to give it a proper modern Gunpla treatment.

Although after spending some time looking at this kit, it does help us remind us that we really need to find the time to work on ours in one of these days.

Anyways, enough of that unrelated rambling. So, what do we here think of this kit?

Well, for a reskin of an existing kit, it does look pretty badass. Somehow the new shiny skin made the already good-looking RE100 kit, looked even better here.

Yes, admittedly, building this shiny kit is going to be quite a nerve wrecker, especially when you had to deal with the nubs and sprues. But then again, we haven’t built our RE100 Vigna Ghina yet so, it might not be all that bad?

So, to those that have built the Retail version, what do you guys think of this? Do you guys think the nubs will be a bit of a pain to deal with in the Titanium Version? Or will it not be a pain in the ass to deal with? Do let us know in the comment section below.

But like I said previously, this isn’t the only kit from the F91 series that is getting the ‘Titanium Finish’ treatment. Because the next one is a kit that you guys might be familiar with.

MG 1/100 F91 Gundam F91 Ver.2.0 (Titanium Finish) (MG)

Release Date: July 2021
Estimated price: JPY 9,680 (MYR RM 366.07* / USD $ 88.98* / EUR € 74.70*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, obviously, if P-Bandai releases a RE100 Vigna Ghina in Titanium Finish, they would release the F91 as well in the same color finish to accompany it. It makes perfect sense for P-Bandai to do it since they would be an ideal pair to get if you’re a fan of the F91 anime in general.

But like the previously discussed RE100 Vigna Ghina Titanium Finish version, the MG F91 Ver.2.0 Titanium Finish isn’t any different from its standard Retail counterpart besides its new ‘shiny’ color scheme.

However, there is something that Bandai added in here that was not present with the Retail release.

What is it that you ask?

Well, they finally decided to add in the missing MG F91 Ver.1.0’s badass XMA-01 Rafflesia action base. This is an addition that we definitely welcome since it was a bit sad to see the retail Ver.2.0 kit doesn’t come with one.

But unlike its MG F91 Ver.1.0’s version, we notice that they made some changes to improve the Rafflesia action base as a whole. Because for one, they changed the color scheme of the Tentacle Rod, from giving it only one tone color green to a more define two-tone color scheme, green and black.

Secondly, they also changed the action base to enable the action base to house two 1/100 scale kits at once. So what that means is that now you can pose both the MG F91 Ver.2.0 and the RE100 Vigna Ghina together in one stand. Recreating that final penultimate final battle scene against the Rafflesia.

So yeah, that alone would make for a pretty compelling reason for one to get this and the RE100 Vigna Ghina together. But, even with that said, buying these two will cost you quite a bit.

But again, we do think at the end of the day, it’ll be worth it.

Why?

Well, that is because that is the closest thing that we would get of a remake of the F91 anime.

Anyways, that concludes our 282nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We do feel that it is pretty interesting that we are seeing a lot more F91 in these recent weeks. Which does make us wonder if Bandai has some plans to release more F91 related releases soon?

Although, honestly, we do wish that Sunrise, in general, would really consider remaking the F91. No more movies please, we really want a proper Gundam anime series.

Anyways, we will be back again next coming Tuesday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and or subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts.
