Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.285

Thank god that this is not an April Fools joke.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 285th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at two of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. At long last, we finally have some news on new AoZ HGUC kits, and it seems like we will be getting two new AoZ HGUC kits.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 RMS-154 Barzam (AoZ RE-BOOT Version)(HGUC)

Release Date: July 2021
Estimated price: JPY 2,420 (MYR RM 90.73* / USD $ 21.88* / EUR € 18.65*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, the original HGUC Barzam isn’t a bad-looking MS Design. Yes, we admit that it does look weird, but we do like how it looked overall.

However, the AoZ RE-BOOT version of the Barzam manages to take its design to a whole new level. Because man, they really managed to make an ugly duckling turn into a beautiful swan here.

For a kit that shares all the same parts as its original HGUC release, it really took us quite a while to realize that. Because at a glance, it looked like a completely different kit when we compared it to its Retail variant.

Honestly, when we saw it for the first time, we find it very hard to believe that this is a kit based on an existing HGUC kit.

They changed its appearance so much that even though, in essence, it is the standard Barzam, the look of it looks so much different from the standard version they might as well call this HGUC Barzam Ver.Ka.

The only thing that this version shares with the standard version is its joints and its color scheme.

But even with that said, we don’t think it’s a bad thing. In fact, we are really impressed by the overall design of this HGUC Barzam variant. However, we were even more impressed by the other variant that they announced alongside this version.

HG 1/144 ARZ-154 Barzam ReZEON capture version (AoZ RE-BOOT Version) (HGUC)

Release Date: July 2021
Estimated price: JPY 2,420 (MYR RM 90.73* / USD $ 21.88* / EUR € 18.65*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, they even made the ReZeon version of the AoZ HGUC Barzam variant. Which we here think is freakking brilliant.

Why? Well, that is because it has all the same badass AoZ redesign look, but with some additions and changes to the kit. It as well gets the badass black, white, and red color scheme. Even though this might not be a Char custom MS, but the color scheme does look like something the famed Red Comet would pilot.

Speaking of additions made to the kit, the part where we are most interested in this version of the AoZ HGUC Barzam is its new leg attachments. These new leg attachments looked like an upgrade that took inspiration from the Heavyarms Igel equipment.

Yes, we admit that we’re not well versed with the AoZ lore. But after spending time looking at this P-Bandai HGUC kit, we are really interested in learning more about it.

That is why both this and the standard version of the AoZ RE-BOOT HGUC Barzam kits is something that we’re really looking forward to when they hit our shores this coming July 2021.

With that concludes our 285th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. These two P-Bandai kits release news took us quite a bit to digest, that is because we were both immensely impressed with the AoZ RE-BOOT HGUC Barzam variants and, at the same time, needed to make sure that this is not an April Fools prank from P-Bandai.

Why? Well, it’s because P-Bandai released the news for both kits on the 1st of April, that is why.

We are aware that there is no new blog post released the last Thursday, and no, it wasn’t a lame attempt by us to make an April Fools prank on you guys. Honestly, we were trying on a new blog posting schedule for us since we are starting to find less and less time to work on our blog posts.

We’re still unsure if we wanted to keep on with this new schedule or continue with the old one. But in case you don’t see any posts from us on the scheduled date, well, we might probably be trying to see if we are comfortable with not posting anything on that day.

Anyways, we will be back again next coming Tuesday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and or subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts. We would appreciate it if you guys would take the time to show your support by leaving an upvote on our R/Gunpla posts and by leaving a like on our Facebook and Instagram posts or pages!

We are as well open to any good and bad feedback, so feel free to write away.

Hopefully, by sharing our love and passion for building and writing about gunplas or other plamos here, we hope that it’ll help to inspire all of here to pick up on the hobby. Or better yet, reignite your love and passion for the hobby.

Anyways, we shall see all of you again soon, and we as well hope that you all here have a splendid day and week ahead! Oh as well, please do have an excellent time building your awesome gunplas there and until next time.

Ciao!
