The Unicorn in red.

HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 286th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at The Gundam Base Japan’s new Gunpla release announcements made for the upcoming Gundam Scramble event in Fukuoka. 

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?  

SD BB Warrior Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited RX-0 Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (Final Battle Specification) (SD)

A red SD Unicorn Gundam. 

Honestly, we don’t really have anything much to say about this one. Since, if we are honest? We’re not well versed with any SD BB Warrior Unicorn kit releases because we really haven’t built any of the SD Warrior Unicorn variants. However, from what we can see here, it is the same SD BB Warrior Unicorn kit (in red/green color scheme), with the Banshee and the Phenex stuff attached to it. 

But even with that said, we admit that there is something about the SD BB Warrior Unicorn kit that bothered us when every single time that we see it. That is the fact that they still didn’t bother to design or include in a different part set for the Unicorn’s lower half so we could have two SD Unicorn kits in one release.

Look, we get that they probably wanted to make the kit accessible and cheap for the retail version, but at least for the Gundam Base’s variant, they could at the very least address that issue. Plus, I don’t think fans of the Unicorn would mind paying more as long as they could get a more accurate SD representation of the SD Unicorn for their collection. Also, how much more expensive an SD kit could be if they just decided to add in more parts for the Unicorn anyway. 

But enough of that SD BB Warrior Unicorn rant, let us now talk about this Gundam Base SD BB Warrior release, shall we? 

Honestly, despite what we feel about its bottom half bit, we do like how it looked overall. The red and green color scheme does look more appealing to us when compared to the PG China red Unicorn that we see a year back. Plus, you do get a lot here included with the kit.

We are interested in getting this. However, there is another version of the Perfectibility Unicorn that we are even more interested in getting.

And that would be.

HG 1/144 Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited RX-0 Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (Destroy Mode) (Final Battle Specification) (HGUC)

Yes, they as well made an HG version of the Unicorn Perfectibility Gundam Base Fukuoka version. 

Just like the SD Warrior version, this is not any different from any of the previously released Unicorn variants (in this case, the Gundam Base HG Unicorn Perfectibility variant). Well, except for the color change, of course. 

But even with that said, compared to the SD Warrior version of the Gundam Base Fukuoka’s Unicorn Perfectibility, we do find ourselves leaning towards this version more. For obvious reasons, of course. Haha.

But even with that said, even though this kit, all it gets is a new color scheme, it was enough to make us want to get it. 

We were honestly surprised to find ourselves liking this Unicorn kit. Because honestly, we thought that we are sick of seeing another Unicorn Gunpla kit. But somehow, seeing this release brought that almost dead Unicorn interest back. 

But we do start to wonder if we would be lucky enough to get it shipped here. With how the world is at the moment, we do wonder if we would even be able to get it at all?

With that concludes our 286th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Oh, before we end, there is one thing that we forgot to mention here. 

Because as we spend time looking at these Gundam Base Fukuoka variants, we do start to wonder if this Bandai’s way to tease the Chinese market? Because it doesn’t really take much for Bandai to convert these into the China variant. 

So, if they do announce China variants in these few months for the Chinese market, we wouldn’t be that surprised.
