Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.287

A halfie

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 287th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be again be taking a look at The Gundam Base Limited Gunpla release. Apparently, there is another new gunpla that they announced alongside the two The Gundam Base Fukuoka that we covered in the previous blog post.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam Ver.2.0 [Silver Coating] (MG)

Release Date: 10th April 2021
Estimated price: JPY 9,900 (MYR RM 373.33* / USD $ 90.27* / EUR € 75.86*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, we’re not a fan of the Freedom Gundam MS design. But we are, however, a fan of its MG iterations.

So when we realized that we missed this one up, we were excited at first to see what The Gundam Base Limited has in store for us, up until we saw it.

Then we find ourselves not as interested in getting it anymore.

Why?

Well, for one is that from what we can see here, the quality of the parts doesn’t look all that consistent. Because you’d get shiny silver bits, and at the same time, you would get bits that are just silver in color but not shiny.

So what you end up having here is a kit that looks half shiny and half of them not shiny. Which does, in turn, make for an ugly MG Freedom kit.

We were really baffled by The Gundam Base Limited’s decision to do this because they could’ve just gone fully shiny here, but instead, they’d go for this.

Honestly? We understand why they decided to do so, because of the cost. We’d imagined that they might want to make picking up shiny metallic kits cheaper for the masses.

But even with that said, this still by any means a cheap shiny MG kit to pick up. Because for that asking price, you might as well spend it on the upcoming P-Bandai MG Gundam MK-V instead of this.

At the end of the day, what The Gundam Base Limited really managed to do here is create an MG kit that nobody wants that looks ugly and expensive all at the same time.

So yeah, we are definitely will be giving this one a pass.

With that concludes our 287th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Honestly, we’re more bothered that there is a lack of new retail news in these past few weeks. Yes, we are finally getting updates on the upcoming April releases. But still no word on new Gunpla kits. Even the RG Hi Nu-Gundam, we still haven’t heard any updates from the retail side up until today.

Which does make us wonder, what’s going on there, Bandai?

Anyways, we will be back again next coming Thursday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!

And yes, again, we would be skipping Tuesday posts this week as we are still testing this new posting schedule.

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and or subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts. We would appreciate it if you guys would take the time to show your support by leaving an upvote on our R/Gunpla posts and by leaving a like on our Facebook and Instagram posts or pages!

We are as well open to any good and bad feedback, so feel free to write away.

Hopefully, by sharing our love and passion for building and writing about gunplas or other plamos here, we hope that it’ll help to inspire all of here to pick up on the hobby. Or better yet, reignite your love and passion for the hobby.

Anyways, we shall see all of you again soon, and we as well hope that you all here have a splendid day and week ahead! Oh as well, please do have an excellent time building your awesome gunplas there and until next time.

Ciao!
