That is some really badass art.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 288th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at one of The Gundam Base Limited’s new Gunpla release announcements. Interestingly enough, it’s a special edition release of an existing HGUC kit.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

The clear fat badass
With the release of the Upcoming Hathaway movie edging ever closer, we know that eventually, we would see Bandai release the clear color version of their first Hathaway movie’s HGUC kit.
So we are not that surprised to see the HGUC Penelope getting the ‘clear color’ treatment by The Gundam Base Limited chaps.
But even with that said, we still find ourselves quite impressed by the announcement. But it wasn’t because of the actual kit itself.
Looks really good, but not the real reason why we wanted to get this badass kit
Because if we were, to be honest, the actual clear-colored kit itself looked alright, nothing special. It’s just the standard Penelope with clear colored parts instead of the standard colors.
Yes, we admit, it still quite a good-looking kit. But again, not the reason why we are impressed.
The real reason we are impressed is because of its badass boxart. Yes, the only reason why we would get this particular release is because of the Badass art on the box. That’s why.
This is the real reason why we wanted to get this badboi
Yes, we’re aware that all they did here is that they decided to use the illustrated poster of the upcoming movie for this version of the HGUC Penelope. But one would be insane if they do not think that is not a good idea because we all agree that the quality of the art on the poster is insanely impressive.
Honestly, as we spend time looking at this beautifully crafted art on The Gundam Base Limited HGUC Penelope’s box packaging, we do start to wonder, why didn’t Bandai did this with the regular retail release? Because we think that they’ll most definitely attract more people to gunplas if they were to start releasing standard HGUC kit releases in this style of boxart.
And yes, we are really looking forward to getting this as soon as it sees release on our shores. Simply because we are a HUGE fan of that boxart.
Hopefully, we would be lucky enough to get someone to ship this badass kit in
With that concludes our 288th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Despite our expectations of seeing this version released eventually down the road, we honestly were quite happy to see Bandai is still enthusiastic about supporting movie releases with a merch tie-in.
Seeing this gives us hope that eventually, we would see more Retail Gunpla releases.
Anyways, we will be back again next coming Saturday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!
