Spending time talking about SD’s and a new Lacus kit
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 291st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off with the retail release announcements and talk about all the other awesome Plamo and Gunpla kits that the retail side has to offer that we are interested in here.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
SD Gundam EX Standard XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero (SDEX Standard)

That is a pretty awesome pose tbh
Honestly, we are surprised to see the retail side still has some love left for the SD EX Standard kit lineup. Because after the release of the awesome SDCS and the reception that it got, they might want to refocus all of their efforts in releasing more SDCS kits.
So this is one announcement that we honestly didn’t expect to see nowadays.
But even with that said, we would admit that it is nice to see the cheap SD EX Standard kits again. Because admittedly, for an affordable SD kit lineup, they do have petty awesome kit designs, and not to mention, they are pretty fun to put together. Although, you do have to put in some extra work if you want it to look at least decent.
The back pack unit actually look pretty good here if we were to be honest
But regardless, this is a kit that we don’t really mind getting.
So, what do we think of this kit after spending time staring at its press release? Well, if we were, to be honest? We do feel that this is a pretty good-looking SD kit. Yes, it does have a few things that we are bothered with, like the hallow weapons and the fact that we know that this kit will come with alot of stickers parts. But still, for a kit this cheap, one can forgive it for being a kit that would require a bit more love to make it look as good as it is shown to us here.
Not to mention the gimmicks here is pretty cool as well
But this isn’t the only SD kit that we are impressed by here.
SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X (SDW HEROES)
SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X (SDW HEROES)
Release Date: August 2021
Estimated price: JPY 660 (MYR RM 25.14* / USD $ 6.11* / EUR € 5.07*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
That is a very fancy engraving you have there Arsene
The SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X is another SD kit that we are impressed by here. But to be honest, though? Alot of the announcement that we see for this SDW HEROES line does look highly impressive.
But we’re not to cover all of them today. We are only going to talk about this, the SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X. The one that we here do think is the best-looking one of the lot.
Named after an awesome Gentlemen Thief, the SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X’s design does wear its design inspiration on its sleeves. But the Thief look isn’t the only thing that they nail here. Because they managed to make the Arsene Gundam X looks like someone that you’d believe would be able to pull off a heist like a badass.
You might have not stolen anything that we might own, but right now you fo managed to steal our hearts.
In other words, we think the SDW HEROES Arsene Gundam X is a pretty good-looking kit. Not to mention, it does as well comes with a lot of pretty awesome gimmicks too.
And yes, we love that they turn the X back into a parachute thing. Although, we can’t help to have a particular game’s vibe coming at it as we spend time staring at it.
We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see this flying off into our game and snatch that kill right under our noses
Regardless, we are really excited with the prospect of finally getting this kit as soon as it sees release later this year.
Figure-Rise Standard SEED Lacus Clyne
Figure-Rise Standard SEED Lacus Clyne
Release Date: August 2021
Estimated price: JPY 3,520 (MYR RM 134.03* / USD $ 32.61* / EUR € 26.96*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Dang Lacus you look dope as heck
Usually, we would push this announcement to another separate segment. But when we saw this, we knew that we have to include it together with today’s Let’s Talk Gunpla post.
That is how much of Lacus fanboys we are.
But even with that said, we here think that the retail side did a pretty good job turning her into a plamo kit.
Because man, we thought at first when we saw this Figure-Rise Standard SEED Lacus Clyne that we are looking at a Figma action figure. That is how impressed we were at what we see here. Also, it speaks a lot about how far the Figure-Rise Standard kit has gone when compared to its earlier iterations.
We are also a fan of how they used the look that Lacus first debuted in the anime. It’s a much more decent look when compared to her later entries, one that we feel would make for a better kit to display. Even her shorter skirt version still looks decent enough for one to decide to display her in.
All in all, we are really excited about this Figure-Rise Standard kit. Hopefully, it would be as good to build as it is to look at here.
Somehow rather, even with shorter skirt they still managed to make her look quite decent
With that concludes our 291st edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. There is still a lot of retail kits release announcement for us to talk about here. But for now, we’ll end today’s segment with these three release announcements.
However, for the next Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will take a break from covering the retail announcements and spend time talking about some of P-Bandai’s new Gunpla release announcements instead. Because apparently, they announced quite a few badass kits.
Anyways, we will be back again next coming Thursday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!
