Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.292

It looks like P-Bandai as well go all out here.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 292nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at P-Bandai’s newest Gunpla release announcement made last week. Yes, we know that this is pretty old news by now, but still, these announcements are pretty interesting to talk about here.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Expansion set for HGCE Windam & HGCE Dagger L (HGAC)

Release Date: August 2021
Estimated price: JPY 1,650 (MYR RM 62.19* / USD $ 15.16* / EUR € 12.53*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, we are not surprised to see this being announced right after the release of the HGCE Dagger L. As a matter of fact, we were expecting it.

However, after spending time with this announcement, we were still managed to be both surprised and impressed by what we see here.

Because from what we see here, it looks like P-Bandai did a damn good job in the design of this badass expansion set for both the HGCE Windam and Dagger L.

You might be wondering, how the heck are we still finding ourselves impressed when the expansion set doesn’t look any different to the one that we saw during the reveal a few weeks back?

Yes, that is true. We admit that the expansion set didn’t look any different from the version we saw a few weeks back. However, a lot of the things that we speculated back when we saw it for the first time turns out to be untrue. Because it does look like there is a lot of considerable effort that P-Bandai put in creating these.

For one, back when we saw the Windam’s Nuclear Missile launcher backpack attachment, we assumed that the missile bit looked to be a part of the whole piece, and it would need some paintwork to make it look decent.

So imagine our surprise when we see how different this kit is when we saw it now. The part that I suspected the missile to be a single-part piece molded on the launcher ended up to be a separate part. What’s more, it looks like they made the missile part looks quite good-looking as well. We as well, liked that they included some waterslide decals with this expansion set.

All in all, this is a pretty fascinating expansion part for the HGCE Windam and Dagger L. It is one that we all here look forward to getting as soon as it hits our shores in the coming months.

HG 1/144 GAT-04 Windam (Neo-Roanoke Custom) (HGCE)

Release Date: August 2021
Estimated price: JPY 1,540 (MYR RM 58.17* / USD $ 14.18* / EUR € 11.69*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We were not surprised to see P-Bandai announcing this kit now. In fact, we were expecting it.

But, we thought they would make the announcement immediately after they released the HGCE Windam. We didn’t expect them to take this long to make that announcement.

Regardless, we are still glad that P-Bandai makes that effort to release this for the hardcore SEED fans. Like us.

But even with that said, we would admit that we do like what we see here. Because even though this is just a recolored version of the Retail release HGCE Windam, we would admit that they did a pretty good job at it.

We like the red, black, and neon green color scheme used on this HGCE Windam kit. Honestly, we feel like this color scheme does fit the HGCE Windam well.

But, even though we are a fan of this P-Bandai variant of the HGCE Windam, we do admit that there is something that we are concerned about here. And that would be the use of sticker parts.

Because we’ve seen that the HGCE Windam does use a lot of sticker parts on it, which does make us wonder if the P-Bandai version would be using the same amount of sticker parts?

Even though we are sure that it would be more and less the same thing as the retail version, but the very least, we hope that they would put more effort into the P-Bandai version.

Never hurts for one to hope, eh?

With that concludes our 292nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Alot of pretty interesting P-Bandai HGCE announcements this time around, but this is not the only SEED kit to be announced.

That particular release announcement we will cover in the next installment of our Let’s Talk Gunpla post.
