HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 300th (YAAY!!) edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to unpack the retail side’s newest Gunpla release announcement. Interestingly enough, they announced this latest Gunpla kit alongside ALL the other new SEED projects under the new Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Ignited project.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

The SEED’s answer to UC’s Xi & Penelope.
Recently we all here think that Bandai is on a roll.
Why?
Well, that is because recently, they have been making alot of Gunpla announcements that have been quite a surprise for all of us to see. Admittedly most of the new Gunpla announcements that we’ve seen coming from them have been from the P-Bandai side, but now it seems like the retail side finally has something exciting under their sleeves that we are now quite excited for now!
Not to mention something that’s coming from the SEED series, and interestingly enough, making its debut for the first time as an MG kit!
What we find interesting here with this release is not that it is getting an MG debut treatment, that it is a SEED MSV Manga MS design making its debut as a RETAIL MG kit.
For the first time, we get a kit from the MSV series making its way first as an MG release instead of a no-grade 1/100 release or an HGSEED one.
Usually, kits like this would first make their way as a P-Bandai release, not as a retail one. So, it is interesting for us to see that Bandai is confident enough to release this as a retail release first.
But then again, seeing how most SEED kits have been selling like hotcakes, we do wonder if their confidence stems from that fact.
Anyways, let us now talk about what we think of this release.
Honestly, we here think the MG Eclipse Gundam looked fantastic. The Eclipse’s design looked like an MS that combines all the look and features of the Strike, Blitz, and the Aegis all in one here. Why wouldn’t we think so? Especially when it has Strike/Impulse/Zaku Warrior’s ability to mount different types of striker/Silhouette/WIZARD packs. Not to mention Aegis’s ability to transform into an MA form while having all the sharp pointy design like the Blitz.
It’s because it best incorporated all these elements well into one package, which is why we liked what we see here.
Not to mention all the badass weapons design and the level of detail seen on this MG kit, which we here do think looks fantastic overall!
What’s more, even though it does borrow many of the familiar elements from the other SEED MS designs, but we do think that in MS mode, the Eclipse does look more like an MS from the 00 Gundam series than the SEED one. While in MA mode, it looked more like a flying racecar than a plane.
But all of this doesn’t mean that we do not like how it looked, oh, no. In fact, we do admit that we LOVE how unconventional it looked overall. Not to mention, we all love how it uses all the existing elements like all the backpack attachment parts from the SEED universe in this MS design.
But that doesn’t mean this doesn’t come with its very own original backpack part. Because Bandai, or rather P-Bandai, has that part covered with this next release that we will be talking about here.

Yes, even though we are getting the Eclipse Gundam as a retail release, its original backpack unit expansion is coming as a P-Bandai release.
Although we admit that it does make us wonder if the MG Eclipse will get the MG F90’s treatment of the release of the different backpack attachments? If that is the case, then it would be really awesome!
If the fact that the current MG Eclipse could easily mount all the existing Striker/Silhouette and Wizard packs already made us excited, imagine how an original Eclipse backpack unit would make us feel.
Anyways, we can’t confirm anything for now on what we will be getting in this Expansion set. But one thing is for sure, from the teaser that we see here, it does make the Eclipse look even more of a freaking badass.
So, are we then interested in getting this upcoming MG kit and its upcoming expansion set?
OH HELL YES! In fact, we have made a preorder for this bad boy already.
And yes, we are excited for its upcoming manga as well.
With that concludes our 300th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. What a week for all of us here! We get a new SEED anime project, a new game, a new manga, and a new SEED Gunpla lineup as well!
What a time to be a SEED fan, eh?
