Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.303

The best that P-Bandai has to offer.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 303rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at P-Bandai’s massive Gunpla release announcements. As ever, we won’t be covering all of them in one go, but instead, we will split the coverage of the P-Bandai Gunpla announcements in two, like always.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 MS-06D Zaku Desert Type (Double Antenna Specification) (HG Origins)

Release Date: October 2021
Estimated price: JPY 2,640 (MYR RM 98.88* / USD $ 24.07* / EUR € 19.81*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We know to some, this kit’s release might be a bit baffling since it is just a recolored version of the same kit released last year. But to fans of the original MSV version, we are not at all surprised to finally see the Karakal Unit colors making their way as a P-Bandai release.

In fact, we were expecting it.

But even with that said, we are honestly still found ourselves quite impressed by the reveal of this upcoming HG Origins kit here. We here think that P-Bandai did a splendid job with the color scheme and the design of the waterslide decals for this kit. Which we admit that does make us wonder if we would see the waterslide decals released as a separate release somewhere down the line?

Because the exclusive waterslide decals they used on this version of the HG Origins HG Desert Zaku looked so good, that we all thought at first that Bandai molded the camo on the parts directly. So to learn that they didn’t surprise us even more.

So, Good job P-Bandai on that.

We are as well a fan of the new head part made for this kit. Why wouldn’t we’d be? The level of detail that we see here is just insane and not to mention the whole head unit looks so good as well. That is why we always find ourselves constantly in love with the HG Origins lineup because all of the kits that we’ve seen, regardless of what release, albeit retail or P-Bandai, we know that we would see a badass looking HG Origins kit.

That is why we are really looking forward to this kit arriving in the coming months.

HG 1/144 NRX-055 Baund-Doc (Gates Capa Custom)(HGUC)

Release Date: October 2021
Estimated price: JPY 5,500 (MYR RM 206.00* / USD $ 50.15* / EUR € 41.28*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The Gates Capa’s Baund-Doc is another kit that we are not surprised to see coming as a P-Bandai release, seeing that all they really needed to do here is just recolor the whole kit.

But even with that said, we still find ourselves quite impressed by what we see here if we were, to be honest.

Because we all here do think that the recolored Baund-Doc looked insanely impressive here. That is probably due to the brilliant color selection that they made for this variant. The light grey, blue-ish grey, and green color combination on the HGUC Gates-Capa Baund-Doc variant here make for an even more menacing-looking kit compared to its retail counterpart.

Which is a feat that we are really impressed by here.

But just like the P-Bandai HG Origins Karakal Unit Desert Zaku Type that we talked about previously. This version doesn’t come with anything extra or different. It only comes in a different color scheme, that’s all.

But even with that said, we all here don’t think that it’s a bad thing.

So, yeah, we can imagine ourselves getting this one.

With that concludes our 303rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Finally, we managed to cover some of these badass P-Bandai releases. There are still a lot more new releases left to talk about, which we are looking forward to doing this coming Thursday (hopefully). So, please do look forward to that!
