Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.319

I am Titanium

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 319th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at The Gundam Base Limited’s one new Gunpla offering! Honestly, it has been quite a while since we check out what The Gundam Base Limited is doing, so it is nice that we’re finally able to.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 (Titanium Finish)(MG)

Release Date: 7th of August 2021
Estimated price: JPY 9,900 (MYR RM 381.72* / USD $ 90.41* / EUR € 76.37*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Even though we would admit that by now, we’re getting quite sick of seeing a new MG Gundam Ver.3.0 announced. But at the same time, funnily, we find ourselves quite taken by how good this kit looked in its Titanium Finish. Yes, we do have very contradicting feelings about this release indeed.

However, after we’ve spent time staring lovingly at it, we can say that the Titanium Finish definitely looks good on the MG Gundam Ver.3.0, and we as well admit that we are a fan of how good this looked in its new color scheme. Quite frankly, we honestly think that this version of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 is the closest to the boxart version of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 than the retail version ever was.

But at the same time, we know that building this will be a bit of a hassle because of the new color scheme. Why? Well, that’s because we know we would ruin the beautiful paint job trying to deal with all the bad nubs.

Which begs the question, why do they even bother releasing these titanium versions of Gunpla kits?

But then again, maybe the actual point of these releases is that you don’t buy them to build them. Instead, you get them and leave them as is? Maybe?

Anyways, let’s get back to the main point, shall we?

Besides the color change, there is nothing new included here with this kit. So if you’re a fan of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 and hoping that they would finally add in the Ver.3.0 version of the Gundam Hammer, well, be prepared to be disappointed because they didn’t include it in even with this The Gundam Base Titanium version.

But that isn’t the bit that we find ourselves to be bothered with here. We are more bothered that Bandai didn’t include in the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 waterslide decals for this kit when they know that it would look alot better on the Titanium Finish than the horrible sticker decals. It is clear why they did it because they still want to push people to get the separately sold Waterslides. But goddamn, Bandai, can you at least make lives a bit easier for the ones that do plan to build this thing?

Anyways, if you are interested in getting this, do remember to get the waterslides and some bronze paint with the kit. Don’t depend on the horrible sticker decals that come with this kit. You’d really be better off with the waterslides.

As much as we love how this version of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 kit looked, we honestly wouldn’t be THAT interested in getting this. So we would definitely give this one a pass. We instead would be more interested in saving up on something that would be more worthwhile in getting. Maybe some new fancy P-Bandai kit or a new 21st Century Real Type Ver kit. Those would be a much better way to blow all of our hard-earned money.

With that concludes our 319th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Admittedly, it has been quite a tough week for us all this week. But it is nice to spend time away from the hardships of life and talk about Gunplas again.

Hopefully, Bandai continues to churn our new kits for us to stare lovingly at again.

Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts. We would appreciate it if you guys would take the time to show your support by leaving an upvote on our R/Gunpla posts and by leaving a like on our Facebook and Instagram posts or pages!

We are as well open to any good and bad feedback, so feel free to write away.

Hopefully, by sharing our love and passion for building and writing about gunplas or other plamos here, we hope that it’ll help to inspire all of here to pick up on the hobby. Or better yet, reignite your love and passion for the hobby.

Anyways, we shall see all of you again soon, and we as well hope that you all here have a splendid day and week ahead! Oh as well, do have an excellent time building your awesome gunplas there and until next time.

Ciao!
