Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.330

Now it’s time to talk about all of them badass 1/144 upcoming retail releases.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 330th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at the retail side’s 1/144 scaled kits offerings in the coming months. Just like the 1/100 news that we covered a few days back, this also has the final detail of some of the kits that we saw the reveal of earlier this year.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Entry Grade 1/144 GAT-X105 Strike Gundam (Standard & Lite package version) (Entry Grade)

Let’s start with this, the Entry Grade Strike Gundam.

We would admit that coming in, we honestly didn’t expect ourselves to actually like this one. Nor do we imagine ourselves to be spending time talking about this release.

But after seeing how people rave about the Entry Grade Gundam, we have to admit that we are starting to warm up to the idea of getting one ourselves.

Not to mention, it is always impressive to see an entry-level kit’s quality being as top-notch as this one. What’s more, we think that this looked so good that we can imagine those interested in picking Gunpla building as a pastime picking this one up as their first kit.

Plus, seeing how well the reviews for Entry Grade Gundam are currently, we can imagine that this would be a good one as well.

However, even with that said, we honestly do not understand why they feel there is a need to release two versions of the Entry Grade Strike Gundam. Looking at it, they could’ve just included everything in one package instead of releasing them separately like what they’re doing now.

It really sucks to know that if you want the badass Strike’s Armor Schneider combat knife, you have to get the ‘lite’ version of the Entry Grade Strike Gundam and if you want to have the rest, like the Beam Rifle and the Shield unit, then you have to get the standard version.

So what that means is if you want to have a ‘complete’ Entry Grade Strike Gundam, then you have to get both the lite and the Standard version of them.

What a hassle indeed.

Thankfully, the Entry Grade Strike Gundam itself isn’t that expensive, so it will not break the bank of those considering completing their Entry Grade Strike Gundam.

So yeah, technically, it’s not that bad.

HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatauros (HGGBBP)

Release Date: January 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,240 (MYR RM 90.90* / USD $ 21.73* / EUR € 18.61*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If we were, to be honest? We have almost forgotten that this exists.

But even with that said, we are still glad that Bandai decided to continue to release this instead of shelving it like the MG AGE3.

Seriously it would be a damn shame if they were to decide to shelve this bad boy.

But enough of that, now let us talk about what we think of this HGGBBP upcoming release.

As we spend our time looking at the HGGBBP Barbatauros release details and discussing what we think of it, admittedly, the one thing that we can all agree on here is that this release still manages to wow us every time we spend time looking at it.

It’s always a joy to see something as insane and unique as this turn into a Gunpla release, and what makes it even better is that this insane release gets that Retail release instead of a P-Bandai one.

However, there is something that we are a bit bothered with this release, and that is when we spend time looking at the HGGBBP Barbataurous’s Bow thing.

Why?

Well, because that is the only thing here that looks a tad bit unfinished. Which we admit is a damn shame, considering that the rest of this kit looked freakking fantastic. We do not understand why they do not want to take the time to design the HGGBBP Barbatauros’s bow weapon to look more finished instead of making it look like it gets some SD kit’s rejected weapon design.

At the very least, the HGGBBP Barbatauros got one badass hand me down from the HGIBO Barbatos, its badass samurai sword. So yeah, at least it has something good for you to use to pose the HGGBBP Barbatauros with here.

HG 1/144 Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] (HGGBBP)

Release Date: January 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,200 (MYR RM 82.63* / USD $ 19.75* / EUR € 16.92*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The HGGBBP Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] is another HGGBBP kit that we almost forgot is a thing that is up until Bandai decided to release its official release details.

But unlike the uniquely badass HGGBBP Barbataurus, the HGGBBP Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] looks is more traditional. But even with that said, we admit that even though the design is a bit more conventional, it is still one badass-looking kit.

Seriously, even though we’ve already seen a lot of this kit, we are surprised to find ourselves still not bored looking at it here. We still feel like the MSV Full-Armor & the Command Gundam color scheme, and design inspirations used on this HGGBBP Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] look fantastic. Not to mention, we are a fan of how well the HG00 QAN[T] base looked so good paired with ranged weapons instead of just mostly melee ones. What’s more, we are a fan of its weapons design as well.

But funnily enough, even though we are a fan of the HGGBBP Barbataurus MS design, the HGGBBP Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] is the one that we can imagine ourselves getting on the day of its release.

That is how much we like how the HGGBBP Gundam 00 Command QAN[T] looked.

With that concludes our 330th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Pretty interesting 1/144 retail line-up here. But again, we admit that this is not the strongest retail release announcement that we’ve seen to date, but it is one that still we had alot of fun going through regardless.

Now we are wondering if we should continue our coverage on all the new retail SD releases. Or should we instead move on to the latest P-Bandai RE100 release announcement?

Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
