Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.341

A mythical Dragon that doesn’t look like one, but it still can fly tho

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 341st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcement! This time it seems like we finally have the release date on that P-Bandai RE100 Gundam Build Divers Genius Head Line kit.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

RE100 1/100 Gundam Lindwurm (REBORNONEHUNDRED)

Release Date: Feburary 2022
Estimated price: JPY 5,500 (MYR RM 200.56* / USD $ 48.29* / EUR € 41.72*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

I know that we’ve should’ve started the week by talking about this one first instead of the PG Unicorn Perfectibility. But honestly, the real reason why we decided to ditch this in favor of the PG Unicorn Perfectibility is that we were more excited for the PG Unicorn Perfectibility than this.

Why?

Well, to be honest? We find it a bit hard to be excited about a new RE100 kit because most of the time, most of the RE100 kits that we’ve seen looked like glorified 1/100 scaled HG kits. Yes, without a doubt, it’s fun to build one. However, one cannot deny that when you compare the RE100 to the MG line-up, the RE100 feels a bit lacking, especially when the asking price for one almost matches some of the cheaper MG kits out there.

Honestly, we wouldn’t have any qualms about these RE100 kits if they were to price it alot cheaper than the cheapest MG kits. But since they’re not, it’s hard for us to get ourselves excited for a new one.

Although, even with that said, admittedly, this is one of the best-looking RE100 kits that we’ve seen to date. Even despite the fact that the P-Bandai’s RE100 Lindwurm reuses alot of the same parts as the Retail side’s RE100 Bawoo.

Admittedly, we know that those unfamiliar with the RE100 Bawoo might not get what we’re trying to say here. But if you compare the two and take a closer look at the parts and their gimmicks, you will see the similarities between the two here.

So, yeah, P-Bandai did a pretty damn good job in modifying the RE100 Bawoo parts. Up to the point that it takes us quite a while to really find out which bits are the hand-me-down bits from the RE100 Bawoo.

But the design of the RE100 Lindwurm’s part isn’t the only thing that we’re impressed by here, because the other bit that we are impressed by here is the RE100 Lindwurm colors scheme. Why? Because we all here think that the color scheme on the RE100 Lindwurm looked absolutely fantastic, not to mention the awesome decals included in this kit. We’re also a fan of how badass the Zeta head looked on this RE100 kit too. But it does make us wonder if this head unit is a hand-me-down from the MG Ver.2.00 version?

Regardless, this is one exciting P-Bandai RE100 release, and one that we feel is going to be one that fans of the RE100 will be looking forward to getting, for sure.

With that concludes our 341st edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. It’s nice to see that P-Bandai is on a roll here, making one badass announcement after another. But the thing that we’re wondering after going through this P-Bandai RE100 announcement is if they are starting a new P-Bandai exclusive series release.

Why do we bring this up now, you ask?

Well, that is because this is a kit released under the P-Bandai Gundam Build Divers Genius Head Line series, which does tell us that they have more kits in mind to keep on releasing in the future.

But since there isn’t anything much floating around, we assume that P-Bandai is taking a ‘see how it perform’ stance before announcing a new one here.

Regardless, seeing how well the RE100 Lindwurm is performing from looking at its preorders, we have a feeling that we would see more insane RE100 kits coming from this new P-Bandai line-up series in the future.

Anyways, we will be back again this coming Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
