HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 343rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll be looking at another Retail side’s latest Hobby Next Phase 2021 Gunpla release announcement. But like the last segment, we will focus on one release. 

And the release that we have in mind to talk about here is the RG one.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

RG 1/144 GF 13-017NJII God Gundam (RG)

Release Date: June 2022 

Estimated price: JPY 3,850 (MYR RM 140.91* / USD $ 33.70* / EUR € 29.64*)

Seeing the momentum that all the Universal Century RG kits are selling in the market, we’re sure that the next RG kit will be another one from that universe. However, we’re surprised that they decided to go with the God Gundam MS design for the 36th RG release. 

Although, admittedly, we are as well excited to get this version of the God Gundam as soon as it hits our shores. 

Why? 

Well, for one, this kit looks absolutely brilliant. Looking at it, we feel like the RG design team responsible for this RG God Gundam managed to really capture the badass look and feel of the God Gundam here. Not to mention we like the way all the sheer insane details that we could see on this version of the RG God Gundam look on it. 

What’s more, we also liked that they made this version look as close to the Hi-Res version as they can here. Admittedly, it is definitely a plus for us since we are a fan of the beefcake look of the Hi-Res God Gundam. 

And since we all can’t afford the Hi-Res God Gundam, it is nice to know that we could at least get the closest one with this RG version. 

But the thing that really impressed us, and the one bit that we feel will make the future of the RG series brighter, is the RG God Gundam’s gimmicks. 

Well, to be more precise, the RG God Gundam’s articulation system. Honestly, the level of articulation that we see from the promotional materials that the RG God Gundam could pull off here is just simply mindblowing. It’s almost as if they managed to cram in the almost human-like articulation system without sacrificing the RG lineup’s characteristics. 

And by what mean by the RG lineup’s characteristics, we mean the insanely well-crafted parts inside and out of it. Because honestly, as we spend time looking at it, we can’t imagine that the RG God Gundam won’t look as well crafted inside as it is outside.

But admittedly, we are not that sure if that is really the case here. Because honestly, we can’t imagine Bandai put all of this in without making any sacrifices. We guess the only way to really know that is to get it here and build it ourselves. 

But if they really manage to keep everything in, then this RG God Gundam would be one of many no-compromise RG kits out there, and one that we feel would definitely be our pick for the best RG, or better yet, the best Gunpla kit of 2022.  

With that concludes our 343rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. What an announcement from the Retail side. We are absolutely impressed by the RG God Gundam here. 

Looking at this RG kit, we admit that we’re excited to see what is in store for us in 2022, Gunpla-wise. Hopefully, we’ll get alot more insanely badass kits next year as well. We’re really hoping that we’ll get a badass MG kit.
