In today’s 346th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at another Event exclusive Gunpla release. But this time, we’ll be looking at some of the Gundam World Contrast Gunpla exclusives. 

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we? 

RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam & GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Gundam set [Gundam World Contrast Color] (RG)

Release Date: 24th December 2021 (Sales period from the 24th December 2021 to 16th January 2022)

Estimated price: JPY 5,720 (MYR RM 201.57* / USD $ 49.58* / EUR € 44.39*)

Out of all the Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive Gunpla kits that we’ve seen from this list, this set is probably the one that we’re most excited about here. 

Why?

Well, for one, you do get two of the best-looking Gunplas here in one set. Yes, from what we see here, they are reusing the same mold, but you’re getting them in a different color scheme. Admittedly, even though Bandai decided to go with a two-tone color scheme for these two RG kits here. However, we here feel the choice of black/blue for the RG Strike and the black/red on the RG Gundam is the right decision here.

Secondly, you get two RG kits in one set here, which is nice since you don’t have to worry about missing one if you’re a collector. 

Although the sad thing is for at least one RG kit, you get one of the flimsiest RG kits in existence. 

Everyone familiar with the RG lineup since its very first release will know which is the one out of these two RG releases that we’re talking about here. 

But to those that are not familiar, well, the one that we’re referring to here is the RG Gundam. Yes, the first release RG Gundam. Why? Well, that is because the RG Gundam is a kit that has alot of bits that you probably need to glue down some of its bits down here if you do not want to lose any of them every now and then. And honestly, this is not a kit that we feel is the kit one should go for if you’re new to the hobby. 

However, even with that said, we still want to own this if we can. If we can travel to Japan, that is. 

MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 [Recirculation Color/Neon Green] (MG)

Release Date: 24th December 2021 (Sales period from the 24th December 2021 to 16th January 2022)

If the Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive RG kit set that we talked about doesn’t interest you, maybe this Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive MG Gundam Ver.3.0 will.

And honestly, despite what people might say about how this version of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 looked with its neon green color scheme, we all here do like what we see here. 

Why?

Well, that is because we like the way they use the neon green here. They didn’t go overboard with it, and we love that Bandai paired the dark grey color tone with the neon green. The dark grey and neon green really look good together here. Plus, with the kit retaining many of the badass looks of the MG Gundam Ver.3.0, we do not think this is in any way a bad-looking kit. 

But we understand that this color scheme is not for everyone.

But just like the RG version, Bandai as well decided to release…this.

MG 1/100 GAT-X105 + AQM/E-X01 Alie Strike Gundam Ver.RM [Recirculation color/Neon Pink] (MG)

Ok, if you’re not a fan of the Neon Green MG Gundam Ver.3.0 or the OG Gundam design in general? How bout this? The MG Aile Strike Gundam Ver.RM in neon pink? 

Yes, just like its RG brethren, they also took the time to create the Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive MG version for the Aile Strike Gundam.  

And just like the Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive MG Gundam Ver.3.0 neon green, we as well like how the Gundam World Contrast event-exclusive MG Aile Strike Gundam Ver.RM neon pink looked here. 

But unlike the MG Gundam Ver.3.0 neon Green, we do think that most people would agree that MG Aile Strike Gundam Ver.RM neon pink is a good-looking MG kit.  

Because honestly, color-wise, the MG Aile Strike Strike Gundam Ver.RM neon pink does look quite good. Plus, it goes with the dark grey color tone really well here too.   

Oh, by the way, it should be noted that both MG versions of this event exclusive kits are recolored versions of the existing retail MG kits, so do not expect them to come with extra bits.

But in all honestly, we wouldn’t mind getting both of them even though we know it’s going to be more and less the same thing. But the only thing that is stopping us from getting any of these awesome MG kits is the fact that we’re all stuck here. Still.

With that concludes our 346th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. What a badass gunpla lineup they have in store for those attending the Gundam World Contrast event. 

It’s just too bad that none of us would be able to get our asses in Japan to get them. But at the very least, we know that scalpers would as well have a hard time getting them as well.
