The Black Rider with the Pink Sniper
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 349th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off on Thursday’s segment to talk about the other two P-Bandai’s Code Fairy HGUC releases!
Just like the HGUC White Rider, the other two look as exciting as it is!
So, let’s get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 RX-80BR Black Rider (HGUC)

Release Date: February 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,420 (MYR RM 90.21* / USD $ 21.32* / EUR € 18.88*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If there is a White Rider, of course, there would be a Black Rider as well.
And just the white version, the black version is also one of the other best-looking Pale Rider variants (besides the HGUC White Rider) that we’ve seen to date.
Like the HGUC White Rider, the HGUC Black Rider has a lot of new additions and changes made to the kit. For instance, you get a new head unit, arm-mounted melee weapons, new melee weapons, a new backpack-mounted EWACS (we think) unit, a pretty cool sticker decal, and a backpack unit. You also get modifications to the chest unit, Leg unit thrusters, and a badass Red/Black color combination color scheme.

Oh, not to mention, it also gets a bazooka that looks awfully similar to the one we see with the HG Dom Trooper.
Quite frankly, even though we’re not a fan of kits that has huge EWACS dome attached to them, but the HGUC Black Rider does look cool with it. Plus, we also like that you can fold the darn things so it would not get in the way of posing the kit.

Overall we’re really taken by this kit and looking forward to finally getting this kit on our hands. Although we do find it funny that, unlike the HGUC White Rider, the HGUC Black Rider Preorder is still open. Not that we’re complaining, but we do find it strange.
HG 1/144 MS-08TX[NF] Efreet Jeager (HGUC)

Release Date: February 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,640 (MYR RM 98.08* / USD $ 23.28* / EUR € 20.67*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If there is one MS design that we wanted to see more of, the Efreet MS design is the one that we’re most looking forward to seeing more of here.
Why wouldn’t we be?
Especially when you consider that most HGUC Efreet designs we’ve seen coming from both the retail and P-Bandai sides look absolutely badass, and it seems like P-Bandai continues with that tradition with the HGUC Efreet Jeager as well. Not to mention, one of the most elaborately modified that we’ve seen too.
From what we can see here, it is clear that the HGUC Efreet Jeager top half is completely different from what we’ve seen from the original HGUC Efreet Custom kit.

And if we were to compare the changes between the HGUC Efreet Custom and the HGUC Efreet Jeager, we can see the changes made on the HGUC Efreet Jeager’s head, chest, shoulder armor, and backpack unit. They also went as far as to give this kit a unique sniper rifle, a very badass-looking kukri knife-inspired sword. Oh, not to mention, our favorite Kampfer shotgun also makes an appearance here.
We’re also huge fans of the HGUC Efreet Jeager’s badass color scheme here. The light pink and white color combination is brilliant, and we do like that the blue on the shoulder armor spikes blends well with the overall main color scheme.

Just like the other two Code Fairy HGUC kits that we talked about, this is another one that we’re really interested in getting.
Although, unfortunately, just like the HGUC White Rider, it looks like they have already reached the Preorder quota for the HGUC Efreet Jeager. That means if unless P-Bandai opens a second preorder batch for our sorry asses, there is no way for us to not get this without paying the P-Bandai tax.
Although, we do wonder why Bandai is still reluctant to give us an MG version of the Efreet when it is starting to become clear that the Efreet MS Designs and its variants are slowly becoming a fan favorite MS design nowadays.

With that concludes our 349th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Finally, we managed to cover all of P-Bandai’s upcoming Code Fairy HGUC releases.
The Code Fairy HGUC kits are probably one of the best P-Bandai news that we’ve seen to date, and despite our feelings of them getting that P-Bandai treatment, we can’t deny that P-Bandai did a damn good job here with their announcement.
Anyways, we will be back again this coming Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
