Bandai is going all out with the IBO series here.
HELLO! We’re back!
In today’s 350th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at the retail side’s latest HUGE Gunpla release announcements. Surprisingly the retail side just announced new IBO kits! Yes, even after the anime has stopped airing for quite some time, we are surprised to see the retail side releasing new HGIBO kits! Although admittedly, we’re aware that all of these new HGIBO kits releases made here are to support the ongoing IBO mobile game. But we can’t help to feel if this is a sign that we’ll see a new IBO anime project coming soon?
Anyways, enough of that, let us now get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 ASW-G-32 Gundam Asmodeus (HGIBO)

Release Date: April 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,090 (MYR RM 77.16* / USD $ 18.33* / EUR € 16.24*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We thought that the IBO series Gundam designs already peaked with the recently released HGIBO Gremory and the HGIBO Hajiraboshi. Now it seems that we are getting another HGIBO Gundam design that looked fine as heck!
If we are honest, we are already found ourselves impressed by the very aggressive look of the Gundam Asmodeus here. But the look isn’t the only thing that we’re impressed by here because we also are a fan of how good the overall color scheme of the HGIBO Gundam Asmodeus looked on it. Because we do think the white, grey, yellow and black color combination is hard to pull off. So, it is impressive to see that Bandai managed to pull it off by using it on the HGIBO Gundam Asmodeus.

We are also huge fans of how the HGIBO Gundam Asmodeus weapon designs looked here. Because quite frankly, it’s not every day that you get an MS that comes with a massive tonfa. But honestly, at first, we didn’t realize that the massive tonfa that the HGIBO Gundam Asmodeus carries is a tonfa. We all here assumed that the tonfa is a beam or long rifle. So, imagine our surprise to know that it’s not.
We also find ourselves liking how badass all the gimmicks of this kit work here. But admittedly, we are not all too sure how all of this would come together, so we might get this one to see how all of that would fit in.

And yes, that means we are going to get this one.
Honestly? We can’t imagine anyone skipping this one up.
HG 1/144 Siegrune (HGIBO)

Release Date: June 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 64.92* / USD $ 15.41* / EUR € 13.64*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Admittedly, the HGIBO Gundam Asmodeus isn’t the only good-looking MS here.
Why?
Well, that is because Bandai also released this, the HGIBO Siegrune. The Gyan of the IBO series.
Although, we all here think it looked more like a modified version of the Gouf, more than the Gyan. The reason for that is because after we looked at this closely, we realized that this looked more like a highly modified version of the Grimgrede than a standalone MS design, hence the reference.
But that is not to say here that we all here do not like it, because the fact of the matter is, we do.
Heck, we would even go as far as to say that Bandai did a damn good job in the whole design too. Because, unlike the Gyan, the HGIBO Siegrune is actually one good-looking kit.

It was so good that it took us quite a bit to realize that this kit has a lot of parts inherited from the HGIBO Grimgerde in the first place. Even the original molded bits look good here! Like the new head unit, new back main body armor pieces, new waist armor unit, and new lower leg armor bits.
Even its lance and shield unit looked badass here. Really, there is a lot to love about this particular HGIBO release.
But the HGIBO Siegrune’s color scheme is the bit that we all here love the most about this kit. Honestly, we all here think that Bandai did a damn good job with the white and blue color scheme because we all feel that the HGIBO Siegrune looked absolutely sublime with this color combination.

Overall, this is one HGIBO kit that we’re looking forward to getting the most here. Hopefully, this is as good to build as it is to look at here. Although this isn’t the only non-Gundam HGIBO kit that we’re looking forward to getting. Because we as well looking forward to the…
HG 1/144 EB-05s Schwalbe Custom [Cyclase Custom] (HGIBO)

Release Date: May 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 64.92* / USD $ 15.41* / EUR € 13.64*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe.
Admittedly, we’re not that familiar with the IBO Mobile Game. But we’re starting to become fans of all the MS designs coming from the IBO Mobile Game.
And this is one of those MS designs that we’re a fan of here.
Yes, from what we can see here, it is clear that the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe is really is just a recolored HGIBO Schwalbe. But what sets this one apart from its other version is that it comes with some pretty badass weapon sets that we’ve seen to date.

So what kind of weapons does this kit come with, you ask?
Well, the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe comes with a pair of gunblades. Well, to be precise, the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe comes with two revolvers with blades attached to it. So, you might be wondering why is this so interesting to us? Well, that is because it is basically, it’s the cheap imitation of FF8 Squall’s Gunblade. Haha.
But the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe’s ‘gunblades’ isn’t the only thing to be excited about here. Because honestly, we are also a fan of its badass color scheme.

The red, brown, and grey color scheme combination does look quite good here, though we admit that the color scheme does make it look cowboy-ish. Not that we’re complaining, but we feel that the color scheme used here isn’t going to win many hearts. Especially those that are not a fan of the Schwalbe Graze MS design.
We also have a naggy feeling that the white streaks that we see on this HGIBO kit aren’t coming as a separate colored part. Because honestly, we can already imagine that we’ll see it come as a sticker part instead.

Regardless, we are still looking forward to this one. Hopefully, just like the rest that we’ve talked about in this segment, we hope that the HGIBO Cyclase Custom Schwalbe would be as good to build as it is to look like, just like the rest.
With that concludes our 350th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. It’s nice to finally be able to cover all the new hot HGIBO kits that just got announced, and we are looking forward to continuing to talk about the rest of the other upcoming Retail kits announcements. It’s nice to see Bandai continue to support the HGIBO kits even though the main anime series has already been over for quite a bit.
But before we end today’s segment, we just wanted to take the time to mourn for our Malaysian Gunpla builders that had their houses flooded due to the recent flooding incident. We just wanted you guys to know that we feel for your losses, and we hope that you guys be able to bounce back from this setback. Also, we hope that all of you guys are safe and always remember to take care of yourselves out there.
We all here might not be able to help financially, but at the very least, we hope this post does help to alleviate the pain for a bit. Hopefully, reading this segment will help to take your mind away for a bit.
Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
