Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.351

We would love to see Santa riding on this thing.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 351st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off with the previous post here. Yes, there are a lot of new Gunpla announced this time around. However, most of them we have seen in detail and as well discussed them in-depth. So, instead of talking about all of them again, we will instead be taking the time to talk about the one that didn’t get a lot of information back when Bandai revealed it.

Yes, that one Full Mechanics kit.

So, let us now get into it, shall we?

FM 1/100 GAT-X370 Raider Gundam (Full Mechanics)

Release Date: April 2022
Estimated price: JPY 5,500 (MYR RM 201.66* / USD $ 48.07* / EUR € 42.44*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Even though the RG God Gundam and the Entry Grade Nu Gundam did get more detailed information out, but honestly? There is nothing that we see there that changes our already glowing opinion of them.

So, that is why we decided today to only talk about the Full Mechanics Raider Gundam’s release announcement. Because unlike the other two, this is the one kit that we’ve just gotten to learn more of it now.

And after taking a closer look at this, we have to say that this upcoming Full Mechanics kit looked absolutely badass.

Honestly, despite what we feel about this being a Full Mechanics kit, we felt that both this and the Full Mechanics Calamity Gundam are a pretty good compliment to the MG SEED Remastered kits.

Why?

Well, it’s because aesthetically, both this and the Full Mechanics Calamity fit in well with the rest of the MG SEED series. We know, we know that the Full Mechanics kits were designed from the ground up to be a compliment to the MG SEED Remastered kits. But it is nice to see them keeping the continuity here.

But enough talking about that, let us shift our focus on the Full Mechanics Raider Gundam.

Like we mentioned earlier, we like that they kept the MG Remastered aesthetics stylings here. What we meant by that is, just like the Full Mechanics Calamity Gundam, this Full Mechanics Raider Gundam, looked insanely detailed as well. So, we can imagine those that love to panel line their Gunplas would have a splendid time with panel lining this bad boy.

The other thing that we liked about this is the Full Mechanics Raider Gundam’s weapons designs. We’re not talking about the handheld Gundam hammer thing. The one that we are talking about here is the arm-mounted dual cannon Battleship turret that it had attached to its arm.

Yes, we know that its official name isn’t “arm-mounted dual cannon battleship turret”. We all here know that it is called the Hyper Velocity Shield Cannon, but one can’t deny that this doesn’t look like a shield at all. It honestly looked like they placed one of OMNI’s battleship turrets on Raider Gundam’s arm. It looked absolutely ridiculous.

And that is why we all here love it. Because frankly, we think that it looks ridiculously badass.

Not to mention too, we like how the Raider Gundam’s bird transformation gimmick work here for the Full Mechanics Raider Gundam. Just like the shield cannon thing, the bird transformation thing also looked absolutely bonkers. That is why we’re in love with this.

Overall, we are looking forward to this one, and hopefully, it is as good to work on as it is to look at here.

With that concludes our 351st edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Even though this kit isn’t out yet, but we have to admit that we’re really looking forward to this one. Because honestly, we are really in love with that shield cannon thing. We are really planning to get this just for that badass cannon.

We really can’t wait!
