It’s red and also supremely expensive.

HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 352nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at one Gunpla official release announcement that just got more detailed information for us to talk about here.

So, let us get into it, shall we? 

Supreme/ MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 (MG)

Release Date: 16th December 2021

Estimated price: USD $90 (MYR RM 376.43* / EUR € 79.44*)

Yes, we know that it took us quite a bit to cover this one, and yes, it is unfortunate that we’re covering it now after it’s released, but we are glad that we managed to regardless. 

Because man, despite it being more and less just another MG Gundam Ver.3.0 kit, we here do think that it is one of the best variants Bandai released so far. 

We do realize that reading this, most of you might be going, “That is not a fair assessment to make when Bandai base this Supreme Gundam is on one of the best looking MG Gundam variants.” 

Yes, you are right. 

But the thing that sets this version apart from the other MG Gundam Ver.3.0 variants is just the amount of effort that Bandai put in here to make the endeavor worth it for those wealthy and lucky enough to get this.

For one, it’s nice to see that Bandai finally confirmed to us all here that the SUPREME bit that is attached to the MG Gundam Ver.3.0’s shield is a separate part, with each letter being its own bit. 

Not to mention, it is nice to know that Bandai produces all of the SUPREME MG Gundam Ver.3.0 materials from the ECOPLA material. But instead of giving it the ugly black look of the standard ECOPLA kits, they go for a much better-looking clear-red material. 

And lastly, they as well give this kit badass sticker decals. Yes, we would at least admit that it is heartbreaking to see a Gunpla kit selling at a premium doesn’t come with waterslides decals. But at the very least, the decals look badass, and no, we are not talking about the Supreme decals that this kit comes with here. 

We are talking about the Standard decals that this kit comes with here. 

Why?

Well, that is because never have we imagined that the badass overly designed MG Gundam Ver.3.0 decals could look good in red. Even though they didn’t do anything radical with the overall design, we like that they went as far as to recolor it in red. 

Even though we know that these decals would be useless to be used on the Supreme MG Gundam Ver.3.0 since we know that the decals would blend in a little too well with the kit’s overall clear-red color scheme. But at the very least, it would enable us to place those badass decals on the standard MG Gundam Ver.3.0. 

But admittedly, that would be an insane proposition to only purposely get this kit just for their decals since this kit isn’t going to be easy and cheap to get. But then again, it may not be so bad if you consider that you do as well get a lot of Gunpla goodness here. 

With that concludes our 352nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Honestly, we are glad that we managed to cover this just in time before the end of the year. 

Hopefully, we will be able to see more badass release announcements coming from the P-Bandai and the Retail side next year as well.
