HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 354th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at The Gundam Base Limited’s new Gunpla release announcements! But today, we will be talking specifically about the two soon-to-be-released Gundam Base Limited HGUC kits. 

So, let us get into it, shall we? 

HG 1/144 RX-78-04 Gundam Unit 04 “G04” [Clear Color](HGUC)

Release Date: 15th January 2022

Estimated price: JPY 2,475 (MYR RM 89.70* / USD $ 21.46* / EUR € 18.88*)

It is no surprise to anyone here that we would see the fan-favorite P-Bandai HGUC Gundam “G04” getting that clear-color treatment.  

Nor were we surprised to see how good it looked as well. Since admittedly, we are a fan of the standard version back when P-Bandai announced it. 

Although, we do wonder why it took them so long to announce this clear-color version of this HGUC kit. 

Regardless of the reasons that they might have, admittedly, we are glad that The Gundam Base chaps still follow through with this release. 

But even with that said, we find ourselves bothered that they still decided on using the shield sticker decals instead of creating a separate blue-colored clear part for the shield.

Why they opted for using stickers on a shield is something that we will never understand here. Heck, we don’t even understand why didn’t they give a separate part for the shield unit, even for the standard release. 

But if we can guess, since the standard version is using it, it doesn’t make sense that they would do things differently with this version. So yeah, that is why we reckon they stick with the stickers for this version as well. 

But overall, admittedly, at the very least, the clear-colored HGUC G04 does look quite good still.

Yes, they as well announced the G05 variant in clear color. Which we admit is also not a surprise to us all here. 

We are not as well surprised to see how awesome the whole thing looked too, and at the same time (see the point above that we give with the G04 kit), we are also not surprised that this has the same issues that we are bothered with the G04 clear color version.

However, it would be remiss for us to admit that we are not interested in getting these two kits. Because if we were, to be honest here? We quite like the idea of buying these two clear-colored kits. 

Because despite its massive sticker issue, these two are still good-looking clear-colored kits, and it is a shame if we do pass these two off just because we are not a fan of how the sticker shield looked. 

So, yeah, we are still going to go for these two. 

With that concludes our 354th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Interestingly enough, this is probably the shortest Let’s Talk Gunpla segment done to date. But then again, there isn’t much to talk about since it is basically more and less the same thing as the original P-Bandai kits just released as clear-colored variants. 

But the same cannot be said for the next The Gundam Base Limited that we all here are planning to talk about in the upcoming post. That particular release, we have a lot to talk about here.
