Camper v Gundam 

HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 357th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll be looking at one of The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s newest Gunpla releases. Yes, we know that they announced three new gunplas. But today, we decided to only focus on the RG bit of this whole announcement from The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s Gunpla release announcement.

So, let us now get into it, shall we? 

RG 1/144 RX-93 ffv Gundam (RG)

Release Date: April 2022

Estimated price: JPY 4,950 (MYR RM 181.12* / USD $ 43.27* / EUR € 38.12*)

When we all saw the unveiling of the newest Gundam statue in Fukuoka, we all here knew that sooner or later, we would see Bandai release a commemorative kit to celebrate the new Gundam statue in Fukuoka. 

True enough, they did, and goddamn, it looked glorious. Especially the RG version. 

That is why out of all the versions, the RG version is the one that we are sure that most of you (including us) are most looking forward to getting their hands on. 

Why wouldn’t you be?

Despite the similarities from the standard version, the new color scheme does look quite badass on the ffv Gundam, and not to mention the rainbow Amuro decals look pretty good too on the RG ffv Gundam. 

But the thing that got us all wanting for this kit’s release to come soon is its badass Long Range Fin Funnel. That thing alone is enough to win all of our hearts here in this blog. 

Because despite its very colorful toyish look, they still managed to make the Long Range Fin Funnels look pretty badass, and we find it quite interesting that the Long Range Fin Funnel is taller than the ffv Gundam itself. 

But the looks aren’t the only thing that we are interested in here because we also noticed that it does come with a pretty fascinating backpack attachment to mount the Long Range Fin Funnel. We don’t really know how much articulation you would get here with the new ffv Gundam backpack attachment for the Long Range Fin Funnel, but admittedly, it would be interesting if you could swing the whole thing over the ffv Gundam’s shoulder. 

But realistically, seeing how big the Long Range Fin Funnel is, we do think that would be almost close to impossible. Mainly due to its overall weight, and we know that thin attachment wouldn’t be able to sustain the sheer weight of that bloody thing. Even if it could, the weight of the Long Range Fin Funnel might be enough to break it. 

But even with that said, it would still be interesting if you could. 

The other thing that we are wondering here as we all take a look at this RG ffv Gundam is, does this kit comes with all the standard release RG v Gundam weapons and equipment? Because honestly, as we looked at the asking price for this RG kit, we do not think that The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited would include all the weapons and equipment. But it would be nice if they would at the very least give us all the handheld weapons in this version. 

However, despite our sheer interest in this very fascinating and unique RG kit, we all here know that there is no way that we can get this without relying on a third party. That also means that there is no way that we would be able to buy it at its MSRP price. We all gotta pay that scalper price if one wants to get one. 

Which we admit is frustratingly sad. 

With that concludes our 357th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. What an announcement this is! It’s nice to finally see The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s quick work in getting the Gunpla version out. 

Although, it is frustrating to know that we can’t physically go there to buy it for ourselves due to the ongoing pandemic. Yes, we know that things might change for the better, but after going through this pandemic for two years, it’s hard to be that enthusiastic about our chances here.
