Long-range newbie pocket killer.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 358th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off with last week, The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s Gunpla release announcements. Yes, we’re going to talk about the other two new The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s Gunpla releases as well. Interestingly, this time we will be talking about the two kits that we here feel its something that newbies of the hobby would be interested in here.
So, let us get into it, shall we?
BB Senshi RX-93 ffv Gundam

Release Date: April 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,650 (MYR RM 60.31* / USD $ 14.39* / EUR € 12.76*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Let us start this segment by talking about the BB Senshi version of the ffv Gundam.
Why?
Well, for one, it has been a while since we talked about any SD/BB kits, and secondly, we are surprised to see Bandai hasn’t abandoned the BB Senshi lineup. Because honestly, we don’t really see any new releases coming from this lineup.
But then again, we don’t really follow any new BB Senshi news, so maybe that is why we don’t hear about new ones out there.
But even despite that said, we admit that it does look quite good-looking and not to mention it looks cute too. But the thing that we are most surprised about is the level of detail that we see here. Why? Because the level of detail seen here almost matches the actual statue. Not to mention, The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited even went as far as rescaling the Rainbow Amuro decals down to fit the BB Senshi size.

All in all, everything looks quite impressive here. Even the Long Range Fin Funnels looked good. So yeah, it seems like to all of us here that this kit looks like it had a lot going for it.
But since this is a BB Senshi kit, despite its insanely detailed look, we do not expect it to have the same level of depth as a standard SD CS kit. In fact, if you look closely at the BB Senshi ffv Gundam, you will notice some sections here and there that are missing parts to complete the overall look.
Not to mention, we do think that the asking price for this BB Senshi ffv Gundam is pretty steep for a small BB kit like this. So I can’t imagine non-fans would be keen on getting this version of the ffv Gundam.

But even despite that said, admittedly, we here do like what we see here. So, if we ever come across one, we might consider getting it.
EG 1/144 RX-93 ffv Gundam (Entry Grade)

Release Date: April 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,430 (MYR RM 52.27* / USD $ 12.47* / EUR € 11.06*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If there is one reason why a newbie would find it hard to justify making a BB Senshi ffv Gundam purchase, that reason would be this, the Entry Grade ffv Gundam.
Because why wouldn’t a newbie want a proper humanoid version of a badass v Gundam variant? Not to mention, they could also have a kit that could articulate itself properly. Plus, seeing how accurately colored the Entry Grade kits is, it would also be one that would be a good starting kit for those thinking of collecting Gunplas.
Heck, they’re as well fun to build too!
So we can imagine this to be something that would attract newbies to the hobby.

But even with that said, if we were to look at this from a veteran builder perspective. Admittedly, we all here feel like the EG ffv Gundam looked kind of plain when compared to the BB Senshi and the RG variant. We know that the reason why it looked plain is that they’re just reusing the same mold of the recently released EG v Gundam. And yes, we understand that they do not want to spend more resources to create a new mold. But it’s hard not to be a bit disappointed that they didn’t go the extra mile for this kit when the others did.
But even with that said, this still looked pretty badass, and not to mention, since the HGUC Fin Funnels would work on this kit, we can imagine the EG ffv Gundam’s Long Range Fin Funnels would definitely work on the HGUC v Gundam.
But looking at this does make us wonder, why didn’t they release an HGUC and the MG version of this ffv Gundam? But the other thing that we are concerned about is whether you can actually articulate the Long Range Fin Funnel. Because honestly, none of the promotional materials that we see of all three Gunplas shows that you can do anything with the Long Range Fin Funnels besides making the whole thing pose like the statue.

We do hope that this is just us being paranoid here. Hopefully, the whole thing is not just a paperweight.
Maybe we’ll get a nice sneak peek of it when someone gets a hold of any of them in Japan. Maybe by then, we will know if we can articulate the Long Range Fin Funnels or not.
With that concludes our 358th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. What an announcement this is! Finally, we managed to talk about all the rest of The Gundam Base Fukuoka Limited’s newest Gunpla release announcements.
Yes, we are aware of the newest P-Bandai gunpla release announcement, and we are looking forward to talking about the P-Bandai kits that we didn’t even get the chance to place a PO of here on the next blog post.
Because man, we have a lot to talk about them, so do look forward to it.
Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
