Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.377

Knuckles in MS form

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 377th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at P-Bandai’s latest release announcement. Finally, we have word from them on the official release date and a more detailed look at the upcoming MG kit from the SEED Eclipse series!

The one that P-Bandai teased us in late March.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017GR GINN Gladiator (MG)

Release Date: July 2022
Estimated price: JPY 6,600 (MYR RM 220.96* / USD $ 51.94* / EUR € 48.17*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Admittedly, we were already quite impressed by the MG GINN Gladiator back when P-Bandai teased it to us all in late March. But after seeing the official promotional pictures? Goddamn, now we are infected with the idea of getting it.

Despite knowing that it does share the same lack of inner frame issue as the MG Zaku Warrior. That doesn’t stop us from falling in love with what we see here.

But then again, the MG Zaku Warrior is still quite a fun one to build, so it might still be worth getting?

Regardless of what we feel about it, one thing is clear it is one badass-looking MG kit. The funny thing is, it’s not like they made a total overhaul towards its looks.

The only changes we can see here are on a new head unit, new shoulder armor, front skirt armor, new backpack unit, and new weapons. Oh, and also, a new color scheme too.

We love the white/red color scheme of the MG GINN Gladiator here. It almost reminds us of a particular game character that we are fond of here.

Ok, we admit, that is quite a lot of changes from the retail variant. But still, it does retain many of the same characteristics as its retail counterpart.

But even with that said, we feel that most of the stuff that the MG GINN Gladiator gets is a highly modified variant of its existing weapons. Except for one new melee weapon revealed here and the new backpack attachments. The new melee weapon doesn’t interest us, but the M67 Seamia Linear Cannons backpack attachment does.

The design looked like something born from the MS design of the 00 and SEED series combined into one. Since we haven’t been following the manga much, we aren’t sure what the “GN Drive”-like device attached to the linear Cannon does. But it does make us interested in reading the manga to see what it does for ourselves!

Honestly, we do not know how the mangaka of the Eclipse manga does it, but everything the MG GINN Gladiator comes with looks quite at home on the existing platform. After we looked at this P-Bandai MG kit, we started to ask ourselves if the mangaka worked with the Bandai Gunpla design team to make all of these badass SEED Eclipse MS designs work on existing kits? Because honestly, this would be the second SEED Eclipse MG kit that looked badass as heck here.

Hopefully. the mangaka takes the time to create some badass prototype variant of the Destiny or the Impulse sometime soon. If he does, oh, we would love to own them.

And that concludes our 377th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. FINALLY, the news that we all here have been waiting to see. We have been waiting for P-Bandai to announce this one.

However, unfortunately, as soon as the MG GINN Gladiator was on the P-Bandai shopee site, we were one of those unfortunate enough that isn’t able to secure one.

But that doesn’t mean we would stop from getting it if it is listed again.

Anyways, we’ll be back again this coming Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts. We would appreciate it if you guys would take the time to show your support by leaving an upvote on our R/Gunpla posts and by leaving a like on our Facebook and Instagram posts or pages!

We are also open to any good and bad feedback, so feel free to write away.

Hopefully, by sharing our love and passion for building and writing about gunplas or other plamos here, we hope that it’ll help to inspire all of here to pick up on Gunpla building. Or better yet, reignite your love and passion for it.

Anyways, we shall see all of you again soon, and we as well hope that you all here have a splendid day and week ahead! Oh as well, do have an excellent time building your awesome gunplas there and until next time.
