HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 382nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue to look at other retail releases from the Shizuka Hobby Show 2022! Since there is a lot to talk about, we will today cover the ones that we are most looking forward to here! 

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

RG 1/144 GF13-017NJII God Gundam (RG)

Release Date: August 2022

Estimated price: JPY 3,850 (MYR RM 130.16* / USD $ 29.67* / EUR € 28.21*)

Let’s start with the RG kit we are all here looking forward to getting this year, the RG God Gundam. 

Why this? 

Well, because it is clear to us that the RG God Gundam looked like the 1/144 scaled High-Res God Gundam.

But saying that the RG God Gundam only looks like the 1/144 scaled High-Res God Gundam isn’t that accurate because from what we can see here, it is clear to us that they got the whole package down to a 1/144 scale. 

Because besides the looks, they also got the articulation and the gimmicks right. And the best part, it is cheaper too! 

They even went as far as to give it the God field! It even comes with the same effect attachment that you’ll get with the Hi-Res God Gundam. Even though it doesn’t come with gold armor bits to convert it into the Hyper Mode version (we suspect we’d see the Gold Hyper Mode version as a P-Bandai release). But it’s nice to know that you have a working part option to pose the RG God Gundam into that hyper mode pose regardless if it comes with or without the gold bits.

Although, we were surprised to find Bandai pushing back the release date for this RG kit. Because we clearly remembered that Bandai planned for the RG God Gundam to release in June 2022. Now the RG God Gundam release date is pushed back to August 2022. 

We do wonder why they decided to do so? 

We suspect that Bandai may be preparing to ensure that the RG God Gundam is available for its domestic and international market upon the kit’s official release. Also, we suspect that the planned P-Bandai effect parts for the RG God Gundam maybe is the other cause for the delay. 

We aren’t sure why, but it could be that they wanted to see what more they could add to the expansion to make the whole expansion parts worth getting for most people? Or maybe they’re still working on ironing out all the kinks?

Whatever is the reason for the delay, we hope they get all the issues fixed. So hopefully, we don’t get an unfinished mess of a kit. 

Because frankly, it would suck to have a badass-looking RG kit become a hand grenade. 

HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial (HGTWFM)

Release Date: October 2022

Estimated price: TBC

We are surprised to see Bandai decided to showcase the upcoming HGTWFM Gundam Aerial here. 

Because despite Bandai finally sharing its release date, looking at its undecided price point, it looks like to us that the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial’s development isn’t complete yet.

Why did we say this?

Well, it’s because they’re still showing the same things that we’ve seen before back when it first debuted. But even with that said, we suspect that there are still more things that Bandai isn’t showing us here. Hence the still unconfirmed price point.

But at the same time, it looks like Bandai purposely kept it that way to us. So they don’t spoil the Anime, probably? 

Whatever the reasons for Bandai’s decision, we are glad to see more of the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial. 

We have a feeling that the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial will be something special indeed.
