The Ex that you wouldn’t mind having
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 383rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be writing about one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements! Yes, we know that we’re supposed to be covering the P-Bandai’s release announcements from the Shizuka Hobby Show 2022. But, since one of the announcements has already officially opened its PO page, we decided to only talk about that P-Bandai announcement.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
MG 1/100 Ex Impulse (MG)

Release Date: August 2022
Estimated price: JPY 6,600 (MYR RM 226.14* / USD $ 51.51* / EUR € 48.93*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the P-Bandai MG reveals that we’ve seen, this one, in particular, is the one that we’re the most excited about here.
It’s hard not to be if we were, to be honest, because, for one, the MG Ex Impulse is based on our favorite MG SEED kits and not to mention one of the best ones from the MG SEED lineup.
Secondly, it is one of the best-looking MG kits P-Bandai announced. We can see that P-Bandai really went all out in the redesigning work for this version of the MG Impulse. Because man, the kit looked so different from the original version that we thought that P-Bandai based the MG Ex Impulse on a new MG Impulse frame. But then, upon much closer inspection, we realized that they’re still using the same MG Impulse base.

So you might be wondering, what changes did they make here? The changes we can see here are on the chest unit, backpack configuration (they still use the same parts but made changes to the hinges), shoulder armor, color scheme, decals, and a new beam rifle.
Yes, the MG Ex Impulse is getting a lot of new stuff.
However, since they’re using the same MG Impulse base, we’re sure that it will retain many badass qualities from the MG Impulse.

Honestly, P-Bandai really did a damn good job ensuring that both the fans of the MG Impulse and non-fans of the series that we talked to were really interested in getting the MG Ex-Impulse. Because again this week, the preorder for this kit was filled up within a minute of its opening.
Honestly, if this is how badass the 2nd kit from P-Bandai’s Genius Head Line looks like now, it is safe to say that we are now very interested to see what insane creations we’ll get coming from this lineup in the future.

And that concludes our 383rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Despite our admiration and interest in this P-Bandai release, we are sad to report that we were late to the PO.
So yes, we were one of those unfortunate souls who couldn’t place our POs for this MG kit. Which we admit sucks bad.
Well, at the very least, we could make the preorder for the reissued HGAC Mercurius and Vayate. So it is not all that bad.
Anyways, we’ll be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
