Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.388

For those that are looking for a bit of excitement in their lives

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 388th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at The Gundam Base Limited’s latest Gunpla release! Interestingly, it seems to us that The Gundam Base chaps as well decided to release their very own MG F90 variant.

And it is a variant that we feel is the one to get if you’re looking for an alternative to the MG F90 Mission Pack stand.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 Gundam Base Limited F90 Gundam F90 [Clear Color](MG)

Release Date: 11th June 2022
Estimated price: JPY 4,400 (MYR RM 147.79* / USD $ 33.66* / EUR € 31.39*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Seeing the MG Gundam F90 getting the Gundam Base Limited’s Clear Color treatment is really an indication to us all here of how well the P-Bandai MG F90 did in the market. Because seeing how fast the reissued MG F90 has gone off from the Shopee preorder page is proof enough that most builders love the P-Bandai MG F90 kit.

Or maybe because there is some subset of hardcore Gunpla collectors that pairs every mission pack they bought with one MG F90, which explains why we keep seeing them MG 90’s getting snatched up when every time its preorder page is opened?

Regardless of the intention of the Gunpla builders, one thing is abundantly clear to us that the MG F90s is selling like hotcakes.

So, seeing how well it is doing, we are not surprised to see the MG F90 getting that Gundam Base Limited’s clear-color treatment!

And to be honest, we think it is a fantastic idea that the Gundam Base Limited chaps decided to release this version now! Because we all feel that it is a much better idea to use the clear MG F90 and pair it with some of the mission pack items.

Well, it’s because it would help to highlight the star of the display, which is the badass mission pack itself! Plus not to mention, the mission pack stands are hard to find and get.

So yes, the clear-colored MG F90 is a much better alternative to the Mission pack stand, and to make it better, even in clear color, the MG F90 looks fantastic!

Despite looking fantastic and being an alternative to the display stand, the kit is just a reprint of the P-Bandai’s standard MG F90. So we are not expecting the whole building experience to be any different than its P-Bandai counterpart. But still, I’m sure fans of this kit wouldn’t mind it that much.

Honestly? We look forward to getting this when the GWBC event hits our shores! Because we feel that is the only way for us to snatch one for ourselves without having to go with a knife fight with scalpers online.

And that concludes our 388th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Although we are glad to see the Gundam Base Limited chaps finally getting into the MG F90 train, we wonder how long it would take for the Gundam Base Limited chaps to release clear colored versions of all the MG F90’s mission pack?

Or will they be the ones to release the complete version of the MG F90 and all its mission packs (in standard colors instead of clear-colored ones)?

Whatever it is, we look forward to the day. But we have a feeling that P-Bandai would be the one to release the complete version instead of the Gundam Base Limited side.

Anyways, we’ll be back again next week (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
