Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.400

A killer smile maker

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 400th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off last week with HG The Witch From Mercury’s new Gunpla releases. Since we have mostly covered most of the upcoming releases for the main anime series, so, for today’s blog post, we’ll take the time to talk about the two HG The Witch From Mercury Epilogue kits.

So, without further ado. Let us now get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith (HGTWFM)

Release Date: 6th August 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 57.11* / USD $ 12.81* / EUR € 12.67*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Besides learning new things about the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial, we also learned quite a bit of new and fascinating things about the upcoming HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith from this round of HGTWFM reveals.

For one, we are surprised to know that this is dropping in this coming August. We thought that Bandai would want to release the HGTWFM Gundam Lfirth at the same time as the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial. But even with that said, we wouldn’t mind getting this badass HGTWFM kit next month. Interestingly, we even heard reports that some lucky Japanese builders have had their hands on this and the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu! We do not know how they managed that, but good for them.

Secondly, we are surprised to see how different the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith is from the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial. Previously, we suspected this might be a mass production version of the Gundam Aerial, so we suspected that the HGTWFM Gundam Lfirth might share a lot of similarities to the HGTWFM Aerial. We even thought we could interchange some of the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith parts with the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial. But now it looked like the Gundam Lfrith might be closer to being a prototype Gundam Aerial than a mass production version. So, that means that the Gundam Lfrith only share some similar traits, but ultimately they’re two very different MS.

So what makes this vastly different from the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial?

That would be the looks of the Gundam Lfrith and its fascinating backpack unit. Since we have already covered the appearance of the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith in the last blog post, let’s talk about the newly revealed gimmicks of HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith’s backpack unit we learned so much about this round. So what makes this so fascinating to us? Well, it’s because it comes with moveable hardpoints designed to mount all the badass Fin Funnels or extra armor pieces. Admittedly, you don’t directly attach all the bits on the kit, as you’ll get on the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial. Instead, you can mount them on the hardpoints designed on the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith backpack unit.

So what could you mount on the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith’s backpack unit?

Funnily, this is the part where it is similar to the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial, the detachable shield unit. Yes, just like the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial’s shield unit, it too can be transformed into a drone weapon, a weapon attachment, and extra armor pieces to the Gundam Lfrith backpack unit.

Seeing the armor pieces attaching themselves to the HGTWFM Gundam Lfirth’s backpack unit helps to confirm our earlier theory that Bandai designed the hardpoints for it to hold something on them. It’s just that we didn’t expect it to be bits and pieces from its shield unit. We were expecting the HGTWFM Gundam Lfirth to be able to attach new weapons or new equipment.

The last thing we were surprised about when we saw the promotional materials for the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith is that it comes with the colored-lines-clear part, just like the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial.

But unlike the HGTWFM Gundam Aerial, the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith only gets one big piece of that part. But we are not bothered by it since we know this might be the precursor to the Gundam Aerial, so it makes sense that it only comes with one part.

Plus, not to mention, even with only one of that said part, the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith still looked pretty badass, regardless.

HG 1/144 Beguir-Beu (HGTWFM)

Release Date: 6th August 2022
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 57.11* / USD $ 12.81* / EUR € 12.67*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Despite our excitement about all the other HGTWFM kits we’ve seen to date, the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu is the one we are most keen on learning more about here.

So imagine our disappointment back when we learned nothing new about it when Bandai revealed this kit at the Hobby Next Phase 2022 Summer event. We were all hoping to learn more about this unique MS design since we are curious to see what it can do.

But it’s nice of Bandai for not making us wait too long for new reveals and showcasing all the awesome things the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu can do so quickly after the disappointing showcase at the Hobby Next Phase 2022 Summer event.

So, what new things do we learn about it?

Firstly, let us talk about the two awesome backpack balls. Since we here have not seen The Witch From Mercury prologue yet, we can’t say for sure if the two balls are a weapon or monitoring equipment. But from what we can see in its newest promotional materials, it looks to us that it might work like the S Gundam’s wired INCOM system, which is a very cool gimmick to get on an HG kit. What makes it a pretty badass feature is that Bandai also included a stand and a wire for you to use to help pose the detached (while the wires attached themselves to the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu) balls.

However, we wonder why Bandai only includes one wire cable and one stand for the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu ‘INCOM’ balls. Since it clearly comes with two balls, wouldn’t it be awesome to pose the HGTWFM Beguir Beu with both balls detached and attached to the wires and the stand?

Maybe there is a reason lore-wise for it?

Regardless, the lack of wires and stands isn’t enough to deter our excitement for this HGTWFM kit.

Why?

Well, that’s because that is not the only thing we find to be quite interesting about this HGTWFM kit.

Because the HGTWFM Beguir-Beu as well gets a beam katar that works as a mid-range beam gun for the Beguir-Beu. Again we are unsure if that is the case here, but we admit that the HGTWFM Begui-Beau’s beam Katars look pretty badass.

And just like the HGTWFM Gundam Lfrith, we’ll see this kit this coming August.

And frankly, we can’t wait to get both of them!

And that concludes our 400th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Finally, we get to cover all the HGTWFM Gunpla releases we all look forward to getting for ourselves!

It has been quite a while since we get to see Bandai make a huge retail announcement like this, where most of the kits revealed we’re looking forward to getting.

Hopefully, we’ll see this trend continue.

Anyways, we’ll be back again next week (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
