The best dollar store Gundam yet!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 408th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be spending the time talking about one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements! Why?
Well, it’s because we finally have the official final release date and some new badass promotional materials from P-Bandai for the kit that they teased us with last week.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 RGM-79 GM [Sleggar Law Custom] (HGUC)

Release Date: November 2022
Estimated price: JPY 2,090 (MYR RM 67.26* / USD $ 15.03* / EUR € 15.07*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the GM variants we see from the HG Origins series, the Sleggar Law’s version is the one we are most excited about here!
Well, it’s because Sleggar Law’s version of the GM is probably the one that looks the closest to the Gundam we’ve seen to date. It makes us wonder if there is another MS Pilot in EFSF that gets the same GM configuration. Because despite its performance in the Cucruz Doan movie, we believe this version of the GM probably has the closest performance to the Gundam. Not to mention, it probably comes equipped with the same type of armor as the Gundam too.
But that is all speculation on our end, so, for the time being, maybe we’ll learn more of this version if P-Bandai decides to give it a manual that comes with some good old lore. But since this is a P-Bandai release, we might not be so lucky.

So, what does this mean for us Gunpla builders and collectors, then?
Well, that means we have an HGUC GM kit that you can interchange its parts with the HGOrigins Gundam (Or if you have the HGUC Cucuruz Doan’s Gundam).
How do we know this?
Well, that’s because we’ve seen someone online that have made a side-by-side comparison of the P-Bandai HGUC Cucuruz Gundam version and the retail HGOrigins version, and we can say that without a doubt that this version parts can definitely interchange with both the HGOrigins Gundam and the P-Bandai HGUC version.
So, if all we are getting here is an HGOrigins Gundam with a GM head, should you go out and get this?

Honestly? After we spend time looking at this, we still believe that this is worth getting. Why do you ask?
Well, despite sharing many of the same parts, that doesn’t mean that you don’t get anything original here. In fact, we can see that the HGUC Sleggar’s GM comes with quite a few new bits. Like the new cockpit hatch for the chest unit, a new backpack design, an anime-accurate color scheme, badass decals, and dope weapons designs. Even its GM head looked different than what we’ve seen from other HGOrigins versions.
All in all, we believe that this is still a kit worth getting because you do get a lot of new bits to make it worthwhile. It’s just unfortunate for fans of the HGOrigins GM designs that the only way for them to get a new GM kit is via the P-Bandai channel. There aren’t a lot of HGOrigins GMs out there for the retail side, and we hope we’ll get a new one soon enough. At the very least, we hope that Bandai will make the standard version available for retail release.

And that concludes our 408th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Definitely, one of the best P-Bandai HG releases we’ve seen to date! Honestly, we are glad to see P-Bandai keeping up with the Cucuruz Doans releases, and we do hope we get to see more of them real soon.
Because honestly, there are still a lot of awesome MS designs from the movie that we would love to have as a Gunpla kit.
Anyways, we’ll be back again next Tuesday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that! Yes, we won’t be back this Saturday since we’ll be busy this weekend, so we are pushing the new post to Tuesday instead!
