The Remastered Carrier
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 411th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll take the time to look at the P-Bandai release announcement of a remastered release of a well-known Gunpla-related release! More specifically, we are talking about a remaster of a 2017 Gunpla diorama display for 1/144 scaled kits made by Megahouse for the 00 Gundam series.
Yes, we were as surprised as you guys were when we saw this announcement.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
Realistic Model Series Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (For 1/144 HG Series) Ptolemaios Container (Renewal Edition)

Release Date: March 2023
Estimated price: JPY 20,680 (MYR RM 652.60* / USD $ 145.09* / EUR € 144.07*)

The GM Spartan isn’t the only thing P-Bandai decided to bring out from the vault this week. P-Bandai also decided to re-release Megahouse’s Realistic Model Series Ptolemaios Container from 2017.
But instead of just re-releasing the same thing, P-Bandai and Megahouse made a few changes to the base design to improve it.
So what is different with this version versus the one released in 2017?
From what we can see through the comparisons made to the 2017’s version, we can see here that this version comes with a weathered paint scheme and waterslide decals to decorate the Ptolemaios Container.

Admittedly, we all feel that the changes P-Bandai and Megahouse made to the Ptolemaios aren’t significant enough to encourage those that purchased the original container to want to get this. However, we admit that this version looks better than the original version.
Well, at least from its promotional material anyways.
Despite its improvements, this is still the same exact Ptolemaois Carrier from 2017. So, we imagine P-Bandai wasn’t targeting those that bought the earlier version to get this.
But instead, this version is made for those that haven’t gotten the original version. We imagine this Renewal version would definitely be one most that haven’t owned the original version would be interested in getting. And that means this version is for us. Since we all here haven’t owned the original version.

And that concludes our 411th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Once again, we see P-Bandai comes up with something unexpected.
Honestly, we are starting to feel quite excited to see what the retail side has in store for us all. Because if P-Bandai has all these kits lined up for next year’s release, we are sure the retail side would also have something that will blow our minds for next year’s Gunpla release window.
Anyways, we’ll be back again next week (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
