Talking about all the Upcoming TWFM kit releases, the last part
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 420th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will wrap up the retail side TWFM release announcements. Yes, we still have a bit to cover, but it isn’t so much now, so after we wrap this up, we can move on to the Gundam Base side of things.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 Tickbalang (HGTWFM)

Release Date: February 2023
Estimated price: JPY 1,430 (MYR RM 45.68* / USD $ 9.76* / EUR € 10.05*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We are surprised.
Never in a million years would we expect Bandai to release a gunpla based on a vehicle so early in the anime cycle. Yes, we’re aware Bandai did the same with the IBO series, but Bandai released it together with the expansion for their kit. The HGTWFM Tickbalang, however, would be the first we see a support vehicle from a new main Gundam anime series getting that standalone release.
But again, we admit that The Witch From Mercury Anime is doing better than most expected. So we suppose Bandai is doing whatever it can to capitalize on that support.

But even with that said, it is clear that the HGTWFM Tickbalang isn’t a cash-grab Gunpla kit. We’re surprised to see that Bandai goes all out on this release because we can see that there is some complexity to the HGTWFM Tickbalang. For instance, the HGTWFM Tickbalang has working landing gear and vernier vents. Usually, Bandai would put very minimal effort into making something like this, so it is nice to see Bandai actually gives a fuck here. Not to mention we feel that the overall design of the HGTWF Tickbalang also is quite good.

But we can’t help to feel that Bandai learned this from seeing how the HG Kyokai Senki’s supporting vehicle releases were sold and received. Maybe Bandai now realizes that fans of the Gundam series actually care about getting the vehicles in the anime too.
Hopefully, we’ll see more badass vehicle designs from the anime made into Gunpla.
HG 1/144 Mirasoul Flight Unit Expansion (HGTWFM)

Release Date: February 2023
Estimated price: JPY 880 (MYR RM 28.11* / USD $ 6.00* / EUR € 6.19*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The Mirasoul Flight Unit expansion for the Gundam Aerial is another HGTWFM release we didn’t expect to see.
We might not yet have gotten far into the anime to see this in action, but at the very least, it’s nice to know that the Gundam Aerial will be getting some pretty fascinating upgrades at some point in the anime.
But it makes us wonder what is the purpose of this Mirasoul upgrade because, from what we can see, the Gundam Aerial does perform well without any updates. Does this upgrade enables the Gundam Aerial to have better space combat mobility? Or is it made for in-atmosphere air-to-air combat?

For now, no one knows.
But we do know one thing though the Mirasoul upgrade has one of the best names we’ve seen given on an attachment, and not to mention, it also makes the Gundam Aerial looks even more badass here.
Also, we are surprised at how elaborate Bandai designed the Mirasoul upgrade is too. Even at a glance, it doesn’t look like a lazy cash grab from Bandai here. Just like the HGTWFM Tickbalang, we can see that Bandai really goes all out in making this.

Honestly, if this is how Bandai treats the HGTWFM kits, it looks like there will be more badass releases for this series soon!
And that concludes our 420th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Finally, we get to cover all the badass next year’s upcoming HGTWFM Gunplas!
We’re looking forward to moving on to the next batch in the upcoming segment!
