Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.422

HGUC P-Bandai goodness!

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 422nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will finally get to the part where we talk about the latest P-Bandai Gunpla release announcements! After taking so long to get to this, we admit that we are both excited and happy to be able to talk about some of them today.

Why?

It’s because we keep getting new P-Bandai Gunpla announcement week after week up to the point that we feel that we can’t catch up to them. But even with that said, we’re not going to cover all of them in one go today. Instead, we’ll cover the first two P-Bandai HGUC kits that we find interesting.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 RX-78 MSZ00 Gundam GP00 (ENGAGE ZERO) (HGUC)

Release Date: January 2023
Estimated price: JPY 2,750 (MYR RM 86.64* / USD $ 18.36* / EUR € 18.78*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly? We all find this to be one fascinating announcement.

Because out of all the MS designs we’ve seen, including the ones from The Witch From Mercury anime, the HGUC Engage Zero is by far the most feminine MS we’ve seen to date.

We even would go as far as to say that the Engage Zero looks even more feminine than the Aerial. But after seeing more and more feminine-looking MS taking the stage, it does make us wonder if we’ll see more feminine-looking MS in the future. Not that we’re complaining, because if we’re honest? It’s nice to see Bandai doing something different.

Plus.

If all the upcoming Feminine looking MS designs look as badass as this and the Aerial, we wouldn’t mind getting more feminine-looking MS designs like this.

So with that said and done, what is our first impression of this upcoming P-Bandai Exclusive HGUC kit?

We believe all of you already know what we think of this HGUC Engage Zero from reading our earlier opening statement. Although, admittedly, we know that we’re not the only one that feels this way when they see the HGUC Engage Zero’s promotional materials for the first time.

Because despite its very original look, we are surprised to see that the designers of the Gundam GP00 Engage Zero brilliantly incorporate some elements of the MS design from the Stardust Memory series into the Gundam GP00 Engage Zero. Especially when you take a closer look at the Gundam GP00 Engage Zero’s leg and arm design.

Even the weapons designs look like they came from the Stardust Memory series. Seeing this makes us wonder if this is the Game Developer’s way for them to include Gundam GP00 Engage Zero into the official Stardust Memory lore.

Well, we’ll wait and see if that is the case when we get the kit. We would emphasize the ‘if’ part since we all know how lazy P-Bandai is when it comes down to creating the lore for their exclusive releases. Plus, since we are too late for the pre-order, we don’t even know if we can own one. It looks like the only way for us to get this now is by buying it through a scalper.

But we admit that by looking at the amount of Gunpla you’re getting here, it’s hard to justify paying for this HG kit more than its current asking price. But we’ll see how desperate we’d be when this kit hits our shores next year.

HG 1/144 ARZ-124 Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] Psycho Blade Custom [AOZ RE-BOOT Version] (HGUC)

Release Date: January 2023
Estimated price: JPY 2,640 (MYR RM 83.18* / USD $ 17.62* / EUR € 18.03*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Speaking of badass MS designs, P-Bandai finally graced us with the AOZ RE-BOOT version of the TR-6 Woundwort!

Most of us here in the blog have been WAITING for this version to come out, and honestly, we all think that the upcoming HGUC AOZ RE-BOOT TR-6 looks mostly impressive!

So, what is new here? Well, from what we can gather from reading the promotional materials, P-Bandai made two changes to the AOZ RE-BOOT version of the TR-6 Woundwort.

The first change is on the head unit. From what we read and see from the promotional materials, it looks like the AOZ RE-BOOT TR-6 is getting a completely new mold for its head unit. The only thing that remained the same from what we can see and read is its eyes (Primary Camera Unit) and the joints connecting the head to its main body.

Honestly, we’re surprised to see how good the head looked here. The only complaint we have of its head unit is the look of the Psycho-Blade head blade antenna. Because honestly, it looked a bit shit.

But then again, this is molded on a 1/144 scale, so we get why they might struggle to get the gloriousness of the mold right. But still, it’s a bit disappointing to see that P-Bandai made it look like the Re-Zeon stuffed a golden squished squid on top of the TR-6’s head.

But again, we commend them for trying anyways.

The other new thing that changed here is the leg unit. P-Bandai claimed they redesigned the AOZ RE-BOOT TR-6 leg unit to look more proportionally accurate to the original Woundwort designs.

But to be honest? We can’t tell the difference.

However, there is one change that we do notice, and that is the option to enable the AOZ REBOOT TR-6 to mount AOZ REBOOT Barzam’s limbs. So that is a good reason for one that already owns the AOZ REBOOT Barzam to buy another, so they could use its limbs to create the Black Hair Legion’s version of the TR-6.

So, yeah, we are interested in this. However, just like the HGUC Engage Zero, we might have to get this version of the TR-6 by paying the scalpers the unofficial P-Bandai tax.

Hopefully, we’ll find someone willing to be sensible with the pricing, but then again, we know that is just wishful thinking on our end.

And that concludes our 422nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Honestly, these are interesting P-Bandai release announcements we’re getting next year, but this isn’t the end. We still have two more P-Bandai release announcements to talk about here.

And we will talk about them in the next upcoming blog post!

Anyways, we’ll be back again this Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
