Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.423

Oh dang, some sweet P-Bandai MG AGE releases!

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 423rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off with the P-Bandai’s latest release announcements and cover the other P-Bandai kits that we didn’t get to the last time we were here.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

Admittedly we all were quite happy to see the AGE-1 Full Glanza finally getting released as an MG kit. Because even though, up until today, we still haven’t gotten any updates on the MG AGE-3 or its variants, this release gives us hope that one day we might see Bandai make that announcement of the MG AGE-3 and its variants.

Well, that is as long as this does well enough to convince Bandai that there are enough people interested in getting the MG AGE-3 and its variants.

Well, enough of that, so what do we think of this P-Bandai exclusive MG release?

Honestly? We can say with absolute certainty that P-Bandai really goes all out here. Because in this release, you’re getting the AGE-1 Flat, the Glanza armor, and the Glastron Launcher weapon unit to convert it into the AGE-1 Full Glanza.

We know that it is kind of obvious for this to be the case since it wouldn’t make sense for P-Bandai to make the Full Glanza upgrade to the AGE-1 without giving us the AGE-1 Flat. But we didn’t expect them to do so for the expansion set.

Yes, P-Bandai is kind enough to include the AGE-1 Flat part to enable you to convert your bog standard MG AGE-1 Normal into the Flat. It means you don’t need to buy the full version if you find the full version too expensive and hard to justify getting.

Even with that said, we don’t think anyone that decided to get the full version isn’t getting their money’s worth here. As we said earlier, you’re getting the AGE-1 Flat here and its Full Glanza upgrade. So, its still quite a worthwhile purchase. But the best bit of this release is that the whole thing looked absolutely fantastic.

We liked that the additional armor isn’t just a cosmetic upgrade here. We noticed that P-Bandai even added some details we see from anime in the armor pieces, like hidden missile pods in the Glanza Armor. P-Bandai also went as far as to give you parts to convert the Gastron Launcher into the Zefuld Launcher.

We are also quite impressed that the extra armor bits included here can easily fit into the standard AGE-1 armor without needing modifications.

So do we think that this is a worthwhile purchase? Yes, for both versions.

It’s not often we see a P-Bandai release that caters so well to both sides of the coin. Plus, if this does well enough, we might make Bandai reconsider releasing the MG AGE-3 and its variants soon.

And let’s hope the MG AGE-3 isn’t a P-Bandai release.

And that concludes our 423rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. We admit that we didn’t expect to see a new MG AGE kit announced this time.

But the part that we didn’t expect to see is how most builders out there responded to this news. Because despite it being a P-Bandai kit, we were surprised to see how positive the reception for this kit is.

Maybe there is hope that we might get the MG AGE-3 sometime in the future.

Anyways, we’ll be back again next week (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
