The unfortunate Jegan, with one of the best fight scenes of the Unicorn series, returns as an MG kit!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 428th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll look at another P-Bandai latest Gunpla release announcement! So soon after we talked about the MG F90 Mission Pack C and T Type’s release date announcement, P-Bandai again graced us with another MG kit release announcement. And this time, we’re getting another Premium MG Jegan release.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
MG 1/100 RGM-89S Stark Jegan (MG)

Release Date: February 2023
Estimated price: JPY 7,480 (MYR RM 242.72* / USD $ 53.30* / EUR € 51.60*)

FINALLY!
Never have we imagined that we are getting this badass Stark Jegan in MG form next year! Even though we expect to see the Stark Jegan getting the MG treatment at some point in our lifetime, we were expecting Bandai to (maybe) release it alongside the MG Kshatriya. But that might be impossible since the Kshatriya would be an MG kit that would be too big and expensive to produce.
So, we are glad that Bandai decided to release the MG Stark Jegan next year without waiting for them to create the MG Kshatriya.
But enough of our ramblings here. Let us talk about what we think of this MG Jegan variant.

Because at its core, we can see that it uses the P-Bandai earlier release of the MG Jegan Type D as its base. But that is where the similarities end. Because from what we can see here, the MG Stark Jegan shares very few similarities with the MG Jegan Type D.
The only thing we can see here that reminds us that it inherited some DNA from the MG Jegan Type D is some part of the shoulder armor.
The rest? is new.

So, you might wonder, what are we getting here for this version of the MG Jegan? You’re getting a new backpack unit, chest unit design, waist armor set, detachable extra armor set, and a new weapon system.
Yes, you’re getting a lot of Gunpla here, for sure.
But the bit that got us quite intrigued is the part where even with all the extra armor this version is getting, we can pull off a lot of badass articulation.
It even had a lot of pretty awesome gimmicks as well!!

But that shouldn’t be a surprise, considering that the HGUC version of the Stark Jegan is good too.
However, it is still unclear if this would be as good as its HGUC counterpart since all we can do now is speculate. But judging from the promotional materials, this MG variant of the Stark Jegan does look quite promising.
The only downside about this release is that it is getting a P-Bandai release. Unlike its HGUC counterpart, the MG version isn’t getting a wider release.
Frustrating, we know.
And that concludes our 427th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Another strong release announcement for P-Bandai! Despite our disappointment seeing this locked away as a P-Bandai exclusive kit, we are still looking forward to getting this MG kit.
It does look quite promising and is definitely one that is worth getting (if you’re the lucky ones to be able to PO this at its retail price) if you’re a fan of the Jegan.
Anyways, we’ll be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
