Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.435

Bandai, where is my green SEED Zaku?

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 435th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’re continuing where we left off with the last week’s P-Bandai latest Gunpla release announcement!

And yes, we’re covering that other P-Bandai MG SEED release.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 EX-A1 Gunner Wizard, EX-M Blaze Wizard, EX-K Slash Wizard Expansion Set (MG)

Release Date: 19th December 2023
Estimated price: JPY 3,850 (MYR RM 123.93* / USD $ 28.18* / EUR € 26.83*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This release announcement doesn’t come as a surprise to us all. To be honest? With the release of all the other Zaku Warrior variants, we expect to see this expansion set eventually released at some point. However, we expected this to be a follow-up announcement to the release announcement of the standard MG Zaku Warrior. With the MG Zaku Warrior nowhere to be seen, we wonder what the actual point of this announcement is.

Regardless, we are still glad that we are finally getting these as an expansion. Because even though we might not yet see the release of the MG Zaku Warrior, at least we can use these to swap between equipment on our currently owned MG Gunner Zaku Warrior. Plus, if you own the MG Eclipse, you can also use these expansion parts on the MG Eclipse if you want.

Also, we learned you could use these expansion parts on the upcoming MG Astray Out Frame D.

Honestly, that is not surprising, considering that we already know from its promotional materials that the MG Astray Out Frame D does come with a connector that enables you to do so. So we expect to see builders making their custom MG Astray Out Frame D using different variants of the Wizard backpack units as soon as both kits are released next year.

However, the best part of this is that all the Backpack units looked fantastic! But then again, we have seen how badass they were with their respective releases, so we have no doubt it will look badass on any MG SEED kit we choose to apply the expansion part.

All in all, we can’t wait to get this in our hands!

And yes, it is clear that we’re going to be getting this (since it’s too late for us to place preorders on the P-Bandai shopee page), and yes, we’re hoping that after this releases, we’ll eventually get the MG Zaku Warrior.

So we can make our own custom Green Zaku Warrior variants.

And that concludes our 435th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Seeing this and the MG Astray Out Frame D getting the P-Bandai Gunpla treatment does make us excited for the future of MG SEED kits.

If this continues, we might see all the other obscure versions of our favorite SEED kits getting the HG or MG treatment in the future.

Hopefully, we’ll get them to make the BABIs in the modern Gunpla form.

Anyways, we’ll be back again next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
