The last Gunpla/Plamo event of 2022
HELLO! We are back!!
In today’s 436th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will discuss our expectations for the upcoming Bandai’s Hobby Next Phase 2022 event.
Yes, it is another slow Gunpla news week. But that means we can really take things slow for once and do something different.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
Hobby Next Phase 2022 Winter Event

The final Gunpla/Plamo event of 2022.
Honestly? After seeing all the badass releases that the P-Bandai side had to offer in 2023, we started to have some high expectations for the retail side for next year’s Gunpla offering.
Why wouldn’t we be?
P-Bandai has been showing us quite a lot of bangers. Why wouldn’t we hope that the retail side matches it?
But we will not claim that we know what Bandai has in store for the retail side. The only thing that we can do is speculate what kits we hope to see in this event or next year.
So, without further ado. Let us get to it, shall we?
A new RG? The Destiny revisited?

At this point, seeing a new RG kit revealed is expected. However, what makes this year different, is that we think we know what upcoming RG kit we’ll be getting this year.
And we all here think it would be the revised RG Destiny.
Why are we making this prediction?
Well, it’s because of the P-Bandai kit that we saw recently, the P-Bandai RG Impulse Destiny.
Because from what we can see, we noticed that Bandai made some changes to the RG Impulse Destiny’s backpack unit to modernize it. Admittedly, we might not know the extent of the updates, but it is enough to push us to speculate that we might see a new RG Destiny in 2023.
Plus, we imagine that the release of the MGEX Strike Freedom and the reception (both negative and positive) that the MGEX Strike Freedom is getting may convince Bandai to give Destiny a second look. And we wouldn’t be surprised if the RG version is the one they choose.
But then again, we might be wrong. Or we might instead see another RG kit from the G Gundam series.
Whatever it is, we shall wait till the actual event to see what Gunpla they’ll reveal then.
But even if they don’t reveal the revised RG Destiny in this event, they still have the whole year to do so.
More HGTWFM kits!

Honestly, this is another no-brainer. With the reception and the discussion going on within the community, both on the anime and the Gunplas side, it is clear that Bandai will use this event to reveal more kits from this series.
We are looking forward to seeing what crazy MS designs we’ll see coming from this series, and also, we are interested to see if the Aerial will be getting more updates. Specifically, we hope Bandai announces more badass backpack systems for the Aerial.
But looking at how the current kits are selling, we wonder if Bandai will consider making the MG version of the Aerial. We know that we are getting the Full Mechanics version, but are we as well will be seeing the MG version?
Frankly, if they announced the MG version of the Aerial in this event, we won’t be surprised. The support and interest The Witch From Mercury anime has been generating have been positive. It’s even more impressive to see how well the anime performed against other big anime series.
So, it wouldn’t surprise us if Bandai announced more Gunplas from this series in the upcoming Hobby Next Phase Winter event. Also, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Bandai announces in this event that the Aerial is getting that MG treatment.
But we would be interested to hear what you think of what to expect in this coming Hobby Next Phase Winter event. Better yet, what Gunplas do you hope to see in this event?
Do let us know in the comment section (over here, on Reddit, FB, or Insta). We do look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinion on the matter.
And that concludes our 436th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Finally, we are getting a year-end event for Bandai to reveal what kits we look forward to seeing for the retail side in 2023. We were worried that the Retail side had nothing more to offer us next year. It’s nice to know that they won’t end the year quietly.
Hopefully, the retail side has something to match what P-Bandai has been churning out recently. Especially on the MG side.
Anyways. We’ll be back again next Thursday with a new blog post. We won’t be posting a new blog post this Saturday because we will be going off somewhere this weekend.
