Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.439

Beautiful Retail HG goodness, part 2

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 439th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue where we left off last week with the retail releases. We will continue to cover the other three retail releases that we here find to be the most exciting ones out of all.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Dilanza Sol (HGTWFM)

Release Date: April 2023
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 58.02* / USD $ 13.12* / EUR € 12.34*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Like the Zaku, we can never get enough of seeing another new Dilanza variant.

We like that they made it look like something that a regular person would be able to ride on. Also, we love the bulky and heavily armored look of the Dilanza, which makes it look like something born in our reality. Yes, the same can be said for the rest too. However, the Dilanza looked like something believable to all of us here. We even admit that this is the one MS design that looked the most realistic here.

So, we have been wondering for a while if we would see another variant of the badass Dilanza. We are sure they still have more Dilanza variants in their back pockets, right?

And sure enough, they do!

And it looked really badass.

How badass, you ask?

Well, take a look at its Gunpla version here. Beautiful, isn’t it?

We can’t wait to see how it would perform in the Anime.

Speaking of the Gunpla variant, the first thing we noticed with the Sol version of the HGTWFM Dilanza is that the HG Dilanza Sol comes with a lovely Black/Purple color scheme, which we believe is a nod to the badass Dom. It also comes with a new head unit, backpack unit, rear waist armor, beam rifle, and two shoulder-mounted shield units (that made it look like the SEED Destiny’s Phantom Zaku).

In terms of articulation, we speculate that it would have the same range as its standard version. Also, we feel that the overall experience of building this might be the same as one experienced with the Standard version of the HGTWFM Dilanza.

Honestly, the more time we spend looking at the Dilanza Sol, the more we start to wonder if Guel’s brother Lauda or his two doting girl fans would be piloting this MS. Or better yet, all three of them piloting this? Are we looking at another reincarnation of the Black Tri-Stars?

Whatever it is, we are looking forward to getting this somewhere next year.

HG 1/144 Heinderee Sturm (HGTWFM)

Release Date: May 2023
Estimated price: JPY 1,760 (MYR RM 58.02* / USD $ 13.12* / EUR € 12.34*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, we here think that the Heinderee Strum is one weird-looking MS design. Although not in a terrible way, but in a good way. Though we admit that if there are people/builders/collectors out there who are turned off by how the Heinderee Sturm looked? We wouldn’t be surprised by it. Because even when we saw this for the first time, we didn’t immediately like it.

It is the kind of MS design that it would take a while for the HGTWFM Heinderee Sturm to really sit well with you, just like our experience with the Zgok and the rest of the weird ass Zeon late MS/Mobile Armor designs.

But enough of us talking about its designs, let us talk about the Gunpla.

From the looks of it, we can deduce that the HGTWFM Heinderee Sturm retains some of the characteristics seen on the upcoming HGTWFM Beguir-Pente and the HGTWFM Michaelis.

You can see the similarities in the shoulder armor, some parts of the chest, and the leg unit. However, for the rest of this? It is definitely a new mold made by Bandai. But we wouldn’t be surprised if some bits of what we see here can be interchangeable between the HGTWFM Michaelis and the HGTWFM Beguir-Pente.

You might be wondering why we like this kit so much.

Well, the fact that they combined perfectly the traditional look of what we expect from an MS design in the Gundam series and the unconventional is the real reason we like the HGTWFM Heinderee Sturm.

Just like the HGTWFM Dilanza Sol, the HGTFM Heinderee Sturm is another kit in this list that we’re looking forward to getting.

HG 1/144 Unnamed Gundam Variant (HGTWFM)

Release Date: May 2023
Estimated price: JPY 1,540 (MYR RM 50.77* / USD $ 11.48* / EUR € 10.80*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Even though it might not have a name yet, we feel this will be another Lfrith variant. Heck. We wouldn’t be surprised if, in the final version, we’d see it gets the ‘Lfrith” designation. Even from what we can see of its overall look, it retains many of the same design characteristics as the standard Lfrith. Although, admittedly, this kit does look mighty close to the Lfrith variant from the prologue anime.

So, does this mean we will see the prologue version of the mass production Lfrith from the retail side? Or the P-Bandai side?

Anyways, despite what we said about this having a lot of Lfirth DNA in this ‘Lfrith’ variant, the funny thing is that it doesn’t reuse a lot of bits from the Lfrith. In fact, the only thing that looks like it comes from the Lfrith is some bits of the chest unit and some part of the leg unit. The rest? They looked new.

Looking at it, we can’t help to feel like there is more to this release than what we see here, but as we learned back when they revealed the Aerial and the prologue Lfrith, we need to wait a while to know more.

Even though we are a fan of this, we don’t want to jump on this too early. We shall wait to see more of this HGTWFM kit before we leap into preordering this one.

And that concludes our 439th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. We all agree that this batch of retail releases we see here is one very fascinating HGTWFM release of all we’ve seen.

But we still have another batch of retail news to cover, and hopefully, we can finish covering all of them by this weekend!

Anyways. We’ll be back again next week’s Saturday (hopefully) to continue where we left off. Well, that is as long as P-Bandai doesn’t pull another surprise for us this weekend. Regardless, please do look forward to this Saturday’s week’s post!
