Now, all we need to do is wait for the Shohoku High School Team colors.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 441st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to talk about Bandai’s recent unveiling of one fascinating brand collaboration kit that we find interesting! Why do we find this brand collaboration Bandai is doing this time fascinating? Because this time, they’re not doing it with another baseball or football team in Japan. But instead, a Japanese basketball club team.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

We know this day will come when we see the Entry Grade Gundam get that ‘brand collaboration’ treatment.
Yes, this announcement comes as no surprise to us all. In fact, we were wondering why it took Bandai this long to start doing this with the Entry Grade kits.
Why shouldn’t they? It’s a beginner-friendly kit, not to mention the Entry Grade Gundam is also perfect for anyone to introduce their friends or SO’s to the hobby.
Why do we make this claim? Well, it’s because it is one of those kits that doesn’t require specific modeling tools (though we advise against doing so) to build it. Not to mention, it’s a fun and easy kit for any skill-level builders to work on, and best of all? It looked great without needing any paintwork.
So yeah, this is a perfect kit for Bandai to use as a collaboration base Gunpla kit.
With that out of the way, let us now discuss what we think of this upcoming Entry Grade Shimane Susanoo Magic Colors Gundam.

Admittedly, we’re impressed by the EG Shimane Susanoo Magic colors Gundam’s color scheme. We know that Bandai based the colors from the Shimane Susanoo Magic team jersey colors. But it’s the way the Bandai used the colors on this Entry Grade Gundam to decorate this kit is the part that impressed us.
We can’t imagine anyone looking at this and not liking how the color scheme of the Shimane Susanoo Magic colors version of the Entry Grade Gundam looked.
The other thing that we liked about this is the decals. The Entry Grade Shimane Susanoo Magic colors Gundam comes with the Shimane Susanoo Magic’s team emblem, custom Shimano Susanoo Magic body tattoo decals, and 0-9 numbered decals. Even though we do like how the Shimane Susanoo Magic team emblem looked, the highlight isn’t that for us. It’s the numbered decals that this kit comes with that are what interest us.
Why?

Easy. Because for one, fans of the Shimane Susanoo Magic team can easily use the numbered decals to number their EG Gundam based on their favorite player’s jersey numbers. Secondly (and lastly), for those nonfans of the Shimane Susanoo Magic basketball team, you can use the number decals to custom your EG Gundams in any custom numbers you want your EG Gundam to have. Heck, because of the color Bandai used on the numbered decals, you can even use the custom number decals on your standard EG Gundam kit.
Well, to put it simply, you can place your favorite custom numbers on your EG Gundam.
The only downside that we can see of the custom decals that this kit comes with here is the Shimane Susanoo Magic custom body Tattoo decals. Yes, we know that it was supposed to make the EG Gundam look like it is wearing the team’s jersey, but man, it does look ugly on the EG Gundam.
The part where it turns off the most is the decal placed on the EG Shimane Susanoo Magic Gundam’s chest. That bit makes the whole thing look funny. We might leave that one out of our version if we ever get around to getting it.
But even with that said, we are still interested in getting one. But that might be a bit tricky since the only way for us to get this version of the EG Gundam is to attend the Shimane Susanoo Magic game in February.
So we imagine the only way to get this is if the scalpers bring the kit here, which means we’re not going to be able to get this version of the EG Gundam at its MSRP.

But then again, this is an EG kit, so we imagine it wouldn’t be that expensive.
And that concludes our 440th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. And also our first post in 2023!
We might not have the best start to the year, but we are optimistic that it’ll improve!
