Let’s talk Gunpla Vol.448

Will this lead to an MG Kampfer update?

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 448th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to talk about one potential Gunpla release announcement. Interestingly we learned about this possible release from a tweet and the latest issue of the GHL Magazine.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

The Rumor Mill: A new P-Bandai Exclusive MG Kamfer GHL variant?

We admit that to some of you here, this is old-ish news. We have known about this since last week. But back then, we only saw the teaser and nothing more.

Even now, despite reading reports of P-Bandai planning to release this, we are still skeptical. There is still a possibility that we won’t see this at all. Because honestly, Bandai does have a track record of revealing some badass MG kit and ends up not releasing it.

But regardless of what we just said, we’re holding on to hope that everything goes well for the development team for this kit. So, we might see it eventually released sometime this year.

So, what is this exactly? Well, this is the MG Kampfer Schweer. A Gundam Build spinoff series MG Kamfer variant made for the Gundam Head Line magazine. Basically, it’s like the MSV spinoff for the Gundam Build series.

Anyways.

From the looks of it, we can see it combines elements of the MG Shinanju and MG Kampfer into its designs. But that is as much we know about this. Yes, we can see that some of those parts are highly modified, but we do not know how elaborate the modifications made here are. Nor do we know how well it would work with the kit.

We have to wait until they make the official announcement and see more of the kit for us to say more about it. So, for now, all we can do is speculate.

However, there is one thing we can say that we are sure about, and that would be its looks. Because honestly, man, they really went all out to make this one of the best-looking things we’ve seen to date. And we can foresee this being on top of everyone’s 2023’s Gunpla to-get list, and we are sure scalpers are looking forward to getting this as well. So, we expect this to be one of those kits that would be hard to get.

Even with that said, we hope this does well enough on the pre-order side. So, that would be enough to encourage Bandai to consider giving us a Ver.2.0 of the MG Kampfer.

And that concludes our 448th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Admittedly, this is an exciting piece of possible P-Bandai MG release news. But we feel that it would take a while for us to see P-Bandai make this official.

Because we still have a feeling they still have a lot to work on the kit to make it viable since the MG Kampfer frame is quite old. So we imagine they are still figuring out how to make the new bits work with the aging parts without MG Kampfer Schweer crumbling into pieces.

So yeah, that is why we don’t think we’ll see the official announcement made anytime soon.

Anyways. We’ll be back again next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to that!
