Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.453

At least it’s not as expensive as that rare shiny Pokemon card.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 453rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll take the time to talk about one of The Gundam Base Limited’s latest Gunpla release announcements! Interestingly, this time, we are looking at a Char Counterattack kit getting that special treatment directly from Gundam Base Limited, not its subsidiary Gundam SIDE-F.

But funnily enough, the preorders are still handled by the Gundam SIDE-F side.

Anyways, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

RE100 1/100 MSN-03 Jagd Doga (Gyunei Guss Custom)[Special Coating](REBORNONEHUNDRED)

Release Date: 11th March 2023
Estimated price: JPY 10,450 (MYR RM 344.05* / USD $ 76.86* / EUR € 72.36*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If you are a fan of the retail side previously released RE100 Gyunei’s Jagd Doga, well, lucky you, because the Gundam Base Limited side just announced the Special Coating version of it.

Yes, you are finally getting that Shiny RE100 Gyunei Jagd Doga. No, correction! You’re getting a shiny and expensive RE100 Gyunei Jagd Doga.

And from what we can see here, that’s all you’re getting.

Seriously, for an asking price of JPY 10,450 for this shiny RE100 kit, we are, at the very least, hoping they would include something extra to make it worth it for the buyer, like giving us a 1/48th scaled Gyunei Figure or something.

But no, all you’re getting here is the same Retail RE100 kit with shiny paint.

But even with that said, admittedly, this is one beautiful version of the RE100 Gyunei Jagd Doga. And despite our misgivings about the asking price, we understand why Gundam Base Limited set the asking price for this RE100 kit so high. It’s because of the shiny Special Coating color that they used here.

Why?

We know it’s not easy for the Gundam Base Limited side to make the RE100 Gyunei’s Jagd Doga look this good while maintaining its color accuracy. Not to mention it’s not a cheap process to do as well. So we understand why they priced it that way.

But at the very least, make it a worthwhile process for the fan that is getting something that is just basically just a shiny version of your retail kit.  Heck, we imagine that said fan wouldn’t even mind paying more for this if you were to add in the previously mentioned figure.

Why do we know this? It’s because we know we would do so if we were that said fan.

Anyways. If you’re a fan of this and are interested in acquiring this RE100 kit, unfortunately, you have to wait. Because currently, Gundam Limited side is only opening the presales on their online web store, which is limited to the Japanese market.

Hopefully, they’ll open the preorder window for the international market soon enough.

And that concludes our 453rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Not the best Gunpla announcement we’ve seen from the Gundam Base Limited, especially after seeing the Badass P-Bandai’s MG F90 P-Type Mission Pack release announcement. But one that we appreciate nevertheless.

Because honestly, it is nice to finally have something to talk about after weeks of silence from Bandai.

Anyways. We’ll be back again next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. Do look forward to that!
