Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.476

A White Musketeer

HELLO! We are back!!

In today’s 476th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will take the time to discuss one of the P-Bandai Gunpla release announcements made a few weeks back. Well, to be precise, that one Gunpla release announcement that P-Bandai made before Kimi had his accident.

Yes, we’ll be taking the time to talk about that old P-Bandai exclusive HGIBO Gunpla release announcement.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 V03-0907 Oltlinde (HGIBO)

Release Date: September 2023
Estimated price: JPY 2,200 (MYR RM 65.72* / USD $ 14.24* / EUR € 13.31*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly? We’re impressed that we are still getting new HGIBO kits in 2023. Admittedly, it is a P-Bandai kit based on an existing HGIBO kit, but still, we’re genuinely impressed to see Bandai continue supporting the IBO series and its side stories here. For a series that ended 5 Years ago, it is impressive to see Bandai still churning out new HGIBO kits for it.

But unlike past releases, we are finally getting something not based on a Gundam frame. Instead, we are getting a kit based on the HGIBO Grimgerde!

Yes, finally, something different from the P-Bandai IBO series!

But being different isn’t the only thing that the HGIBO Oltlinde had going for the HGIBO Oltlinde because it is also one of the best-looking HGIBO kits we’ve seen in years! We would even go as far as to say that the HGIBO Oltlinde is the best-looking non-Gundam frame HGIBO kit we’ve seen.

Honestly? We feel that even if you’re not a fan of the series, you’ll find it hard to ignore the badass looks of the HGIBO Oltlinde, especially when they got a lot right here.

Like the colors, we felt that the green, white, black, and yellow color scheme of the HGIBO Oltlinde looked fantastic here. But that is because the overall design of the kit allowed it to have a good color distribution overall.

Speaking of the HGIBO Oltlinde’s design, we love the asymmetrical design of the HGIBO Oltlinde, and we love how the HGIBO Oltlinde overall design made it look like a musketeer. From its head unit and dope left shoulder armor design, they really managed to design a badass fedora-wearing-looking MS here. Even its weapons look cool as heck. Yes, admittedly, it does look like a straight razor, but then again, we don’t often see an MS carries an MS-sized straight razor as its primary weapon before.

However, even with that said, one shouldn’t expect the experience of building this to be any different than the one you’d experience with the standard HGIBO Grimgerde. Because despite the changes made, it is clear that P-Bandai reused many of the same HGIBO Grimgerde bits on the HGIBO Oltlinde.

But that fact doesn’t undermine our feelings about this kit. We still find ourselves interested in getting this P-Bandai exclusive kit. But since we missed the PO window for this, We suppose we have to wait till P-Bandai relists them in their shopee account.

And that concludes our 476th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Honestly? We’re surprised to see how slow the Gunpla news has been since we’ve been gone. We thought we’d be seeing more Gunpla release announcements, but so far, we see teasers from both the Retail and P-Bandai side.

If there are no updates on those teasers by next week, we’d be sure to discuss those for sure!

Anyways. We’ll be back again next coming Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, do look forward to that!
