HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 484th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll continue where we left off with the Gundam Base Limited’s Gunpla release announcements by covering the last new release we haven’t covered. 

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

HG The Gundam Base Limited TOLRO-800 Torohachi (HGUC)

Release Date: 05th August 2023

Estimated price: JPY 2,200 (MYR RM 70.82* / USD $ 15.53* / EUR € 13.96*)

We have seen a lot of badass mecha designs from the Gundam series, especially from the UC series. And thankfully, we also have been getting a lot of pretty awesome Gunplas throughout the years! 

But admittedly, the badass MS designs aren’t the only thing we wanted Bandai to focus on. We also wanted Bandai to release kits based on other aspects of the Gundam Universe, like the support vehicles/mecha, ships, and other military vehicles in the Universe. 

Yes, we get some form of it with the EX-Model and the UC Hard Graph series, but Bandai catered to those two series around your average plamo builder, not your average Gunpla builder. 

Knowing this, we understand why these two series aren’t doing well as Bandai hoped. And the reason is that most Gunpla builders knew they needed to be at a certain skill level to work on these two series. So, clearly, it doesn’t make a good selling point to your casual Gunpla builder. 

So imagine our surprise to see the HG series release the HG Torohachi. A non-MS kit specifically designed with your average Gunpla builder in mind. Seeing the HG Torohachi gives us hope that maybe in the future, we might see Bandai create more support mecha or vehicle-based kits under the HG banner like the Torohachi. 

But more importantly, what do we think of this Gundam Base Limited’s HG Torohachi? 

Well, it looks fantastic! The level of detail we see here is impressive for an HG kit. We are also impressed to see the articulation we are getting here with the HG Torohachi. We find it hard to believe that despite its small size, they created a well-articulated limb system for the HG Torohachi.  

We are very impressed by the effort Gundam Base Limited chaps put in here.  

Honestly? The HG Torohachi might be one of the most exciting HG releases this year, and we’re looking forward to seeing more releases like this from Bandai. 

And that concludes our 484th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice to finally talk about all the Gundam Base Limited’s upcoming releases. Looking at the two recent releases, we felt that Gundam Base Limited’s side is getting bolder with their releases. 

We wouldn’t be surprised if the Gundam Base Limited’s side releases more HG UC Vehicle kits in the future.
