The small plastic armageddon finally has a release date.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 505th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll continue where we left off with the retail releases. Though there are still a few to talk about, we decided to only focus on the one that we feel most of us would be looking forward to the most.
And then we could finally move on to other things.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam (HGCE)

Release Date: March 2024
Estimated price: JPY 14,300 (MYR RM 456.55* / USD $ 95.54* / EUR € 90.32*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

It’s nice that we don’t have to wait long to learn more about this exciting HGCE kit.
Out of all the retail kits that we’ve been looking forward to learning more about, the Destroy is definitely up on that list. Looking at how badass the HGCE Destroy looked, we also believe the HGCE Destroy will be one of the most anticipated 2024 HGCE kits for most builders.
And there is a good reason for this.
For one, it has been quite a while since we have a Gunpla this HUGE coming for the retail side. Furthermore, unlike the other Large retail HG kits, Bandai ensured that this won’t be just a glorified plastic brick.

Why? Because it comes with a proper display stand for you to use. And it does look strong enough to sustain the kit in pose. Speaking of posing, the articulation of the HGCE Destroy Gundam’s limbs is quite impressive for something this big. They even get the manipulators fully articulated! Yes, this shouldn’t be surprising, considering that the HGUC Psycho Gundam also had fully poseable manipulators. But after the recently released HGUC Nightingale, we thought that Bandai would want to stick with releasing fixed manipulators for other big kits for the Main HG lineup.
So, as you can imagine, we are happy to see this kit come with poseable manipulators.

But the best part? It’s not a partsformer, which means you do not need to take it apart to transform it into its MA form. And yes, as we discussed in the previous post, the HGCE Destroy also comes with badass beam effect parts.
All in all, we’re looking forward to this kit! It’s time for us to start saving up for this bad boy.

And that concludes our 505th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice to finally finalize our discussions on all the main Retail Gunpla release announcements.
We look forward to moving on to the next bit of Gunpla discussion that we plan for in next week’s blog post!
Anyway, we’ll be back next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!
