Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.511

F1 Gunpla Unleashed

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 511th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll talk about one of the most fascinating Gunpla brand collaborations we’ve seen from Bandai. The reason why we find this to be quite an interesting one is because Bandai specifically designed this Gunpla to celebrate a Japanese F1 Driver debut.

But the thing we find the most interesting of all this is that despite their effort, this is one of those kits none of us will be able to own.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

PGU 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam (Scudaria Alphatauri Livery)(Perfect Grade Unleashed)

<not for sale>

When we saw this PGU Gundam kit, we were immediately captivated.

Why wouldn’t we be? It’s one of the most badass variants of the PGU Gundams that we’ve seen.

Admittedly, from what we can see, this is technically the same PGU Gundam kit as the retail version. But what makes this version different is its custom color scheme and decals. Let’s first talk about its color scheme. The blue/white/grey and orange color scheme seems to fit well on this version of the PGU Gundam, even though the designers try to make this look closer to the same color scheme we see on the Scudaria Alphatauri’s F1 car. However, the custom color scheme they used here makes for a cool-looking camo for the PGU Gundam. Not to mention, the new color scheme does make it look more badass than the standard version.

Now, let’s talk about its custom decals. Unlike most custom decals we’ve seen from other brand collaborations, this is one of those custom decals that we could say belong under the badass-looking decals category.

Even though Bandai designed the decals to fit the whole F1 theme, we’re impressed that they made it go well with the PGU Gundam. It looked so good that if Bandai made this version of the Gundam as a part of the official lore, we think it’ll fit quite well.

The best part about this whole thing is that they even made a YouTube promotional video of this brand collab.

That is why we’re surprised that Bandai decided not to sell this version of the PGU Gundam. They put so much effort into this and not sell it to the masses? That is something that we don’t understand.

And we’re pretty sure if they decide to sell this, no matter how expensive this PGU kit is, we’re certain most builders and Gunpla collectors wouldn’t mind throwing all their money on this badass piece of plastic.

Because we know we would.

And that concludes our 511th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We believe this would be the first time since we started the blog that we see Bandai showcase a badass Gunpla kit they created just because they can.

But what makes this frustrating for us all here is that it is one of the best-looking kits we’ve seen from Bandai this year, and we couldn’t buy one.

Anyway, we’ll be back next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo-related posts.
