Our favorite unhinged Char clone MS in MG Ver.Ka form.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 518th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll pick up where we left off with the retail news and continue coverage of the other MG Ver.Ka announcement.
And this is one announcement most of us here looked forward to getting.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

Getting the Bandai to release the Narrative version of the MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka alongside the MG Narrative Ver.Ka is a masterstroke of marketing genius from the Retail side that we haven’t seen from them in a long time.
Usually, when we see them announcing two new MG kits, Bandai would arrange the release date to be a month apart from each other. So, we think that it is a smart move from the retail side to release both at the same release date!

However, we admit that it would be one of those release windows that would strain many of the Gunpla builder’s finances since we’re getting two MG Ver.Ka’s released at the same time. Plus, from what we’re seeing here, they are making things worse for us when both are best-looking MG Ver.Ka’s that we’ve seen.
But you might wonder why we say this when what we’re getting here is just a slightly modified version of the Standard MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka? And you’re not wrong because from what we see here, it does look like we’re getting a slightly modified version of the Standard MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka.
But what sets this one apart, or what sets this version apart even from the Standard MG Shinanju Ver.Ka, is that they finally went ahead to design separate parts for the chest and wrist ornaments for this version of the MG Shinanju Ver.Ka. And that small change alone makes us feel this version is worth getting.

It does make us wonder if Bandai plans to release a new version of the MG Shinanju using the same separate part ornaments as we get with the Narrative’s version of the MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka?
Plus, we all feel the blueish-grey color scheme used on the Narrative version of the MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka fits the overall look better than the all-white color scheme of the Standard version of the MG Shinanju Stein Ver.Ka.
But even with that said, we admit there isn’t much difference between the Narrative and the standard version besides the part change and the new color scheme. From what we can see here, we can tell that it is the same kit. So, if you have built all the earlier versions of the MG Shinanjus, we believe this wouldn’t be any different.

But we still think that the minor changes Bandai made here are enough to convince people to go out and buy it.
And that concludes our 518th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Even though we’ve covered all the major Retail Gunpla releases, admittedly, there are still more retail kits we haven’t covered. But we will get to all of them in next week’s blog post!
And yes, that means we’ll be off this weekend! Because we’ll be going out to celebrate the end of the year. But worry not! We will still be posting Gunpla-related posts on our socials!
We’ll be back next week’s (or next year’s) Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!
