The road to the best dagger is near!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 522nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss the P-Bandai’s sides’ latest Gunpla release announcement! Unsurprisingly, P-Bandai just announced another Premium HG release recently. Since Bandai is hard at work promoting the upcoming SEED FREEDOM movie, we’re not surprised that the announced kit is a P-Bandai exclusive HGCE kit.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 GAT-02L2 Dark Dagger L (HGCE)

Release Date: April 2024
Estimated price: JPY 1,650 (MYR RM 52.54* / USD $ 11.14* / EUR € 10.23*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

After Bandai announced and released the HGCE Dagger L, we knew we would get the HGCE Dark Dagger L eventually. But what excites us most about this release announcement is that we know that it would take us one step closer to getting one of the best Dagger MS designs in SEED, the Slaughter Dagger.
Also, seeing the Dark Dagger L getting the P-Bandai treatment confirms that we will definitely get the Slaughter Dagger as a P-Bandai exclusive release.
But enough of our speculation on things. Let us now talk about what we think of this release, shall we?

To be honest? The HGCE Dark Dagger L is technically just a recolored version of the Standard HGCE Dagger L. But what sets this one apart from its standard version is that it comes with the Mk.39 Low-Recoil Cannon.
After seeing it in many SEED Destiny Series Dagger L scenes, it is nice that we finally get the Mk.39 in Gunpla form. Honestly? We liked it so much that we wouldn’t mind getting two HGCE Dark Dagger L’s to build one HGCE Dark Dagger L wielding, two of the Mk.39’s. That is how much we love how it looked.
But getting the Mk.39 isn’t the only reason why we wanted to get this. It’s also because of how good the HGCE Dark Dagger L looked in its manacing color tones.

But the thing that we were most surprised about when we saw this version is how well the dark tones mix with the colors of different backpack units. However, this makes us wonder how the Dark Dagger L would look with the Alie Striker installed. Since it has the same hard points as the Strike, we wait until we get the HGCE Dark Dagger L to see how well it would look installed with the unmodified HGCE Strike’s Alie Striker.
We’re excited about this P-Bandai release, and we really hope to see the PO window open for us SEA fans soon.

And that concludes our 522nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice that P-Bandai finally got on their asses and announced the HGCE Dagger L variant that we’re most looking forward to getting! And since we kept hearing good things about the base kit, we’re certain we’re getting a fantastic P-Bandai kit!
We’ll be back this Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!
