Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.528

An Orange Ginn

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 528th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. Yes, we know that P-Bandai has been really busy recently, and they have been announcing a lot of new kits in the past few days and weeks. But instead of covering all of them in one go, we’ll take our time with it and first cover the one they made alongside the retail announcements.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017 Mobile Ginn [Miguel Aiman’s Ver.](MG)

Release Date: April 2024
Estimated price: JPY 5,390 (MYR 172.02* / USD 36.10* / EUR 33.47*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Since the announcement and release of the MG Mobile Ginn kit, some of us have been hoping that P-Bandai (Since we lost hope with the retail side to pick this one up) will eventually announce the Miguel’s Ginn release announcement sometime after the release of the Standard MG Ginn.

So we were shocked to see P-Bandai announce the MG Gladiator Ginn before this version because we feel that of the two MS Designs, Miguel’s Ginn wouldn’t take too much effort from Bandai to turn it into Gunpla.

Ultimately, we admit that it might not be that bad that we get the Gladiator before Miguel’s version of the Ginn because, man, the MG Gladiator Ginn is one badass MG Ginn variant.

But enough with our feelings, let us now talk about what we think about this new P-Bandai version of the MG Ginn.

To be honest? Miguel’s version of the MG Ginn is basically just a recolored version of the standard kit (Which we expected). The only new thing here (besides the color scheme) that comes with this kit is a new custom shield (which is badass) and some pretty sweet Miguel’s custom waterslide decals.

But again, we don’t think it’s such a bad thing since we get a badass-looking MG kit here. But to some, it might be hard to justify getting since there isn’t much difference between this version and the standard version.

But the real issue is that this kit is an event release exclusive. Which event, you may ask? That would be the Hyper Plamo Fes 2024.

So, why is this an issue? Well, if you’re living anywhere away from Japan, we have to wait quite a bit before P-Bandai decides to officially open the preorder for this exclusive kit for the rest of us.

Hopefully, we’ll be lucky enough to preorder this, and we hope that we don’t have to wait too long for the PO window to open.

And that concludes our 528th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We know that P-Bandai announced more than one kit for that event, but since this is the only one, we find it to be the most fascinating. So, we decided to talk about this one first.

Maybe after we covered the rest of the big P-Bandai releases, we might return to cover the rest?

Anyway, we’ll be back next coming Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!
