In today’s 531st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll take a short break from our coverage of all the new P-Bandai releases and discuss one of Gundam Base Limited’s Gunpla release announcements. Well, to be more precise, this announcement is from the Gundam Base’s Gundam Side-F’s side, and yes, that means we’re getting another kit from the Char’s Counterattack series! 

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 AMS-119 Geara Doga [Axis Shock Image Color](HGUC)

Release Date: 23rd February 2024 (Currently released)

Estimated price: JPY 2,090 (MYR 66.33* / USD 13.88* / EUR 12.83*)

Fans of the CCA series rejoice! Because you’re getting another Axis Shock Image Color HGUC kit! And honestly? We’re not surprised by this announcement at all. We expected the Gundam SIDE-F to announce the HGUC Geara Doga in this color scheme after getting the HGUC Jegan in the same color scheme.

But you might wonder after seeing this kit if the Gundam SIDE-F makes any improvements on this kit since the base kit is a dated HGUC kit. Will we expect something somewhat substantial like the HGUC AOZ Hobby Hizack? 

Honestly? After seeing its promotional materials? We can safely say no. Because from what we can see, this is still the same HGUC Geara Doga base. With no improvement, nor did it get anything new. You are really getting the same HGUC Geara Doga, except it is more orange. 

But admittedly, despite its old age, the HGUC Geara Doga is still quite a decent HGUC kit, even by today’s standards. So, we don’t think fans of the standard HGUC Geara Doga would have anything to complain about. 

So, if you’re a fan of the HGUC Geara Doga and looking for a new reason to get another variant in your Doga collection, look no further because this is the kit for you. 

And that concludes our 531st edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice to finally get the chance to cover this release after its announcement. Yes, it is just a recolored HGUC Geara Doga, but still, we think it deserves to be covered regardless.

But it’s time for us to continue where we left off with the P-Bandai releases.
