Less is more?
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 555th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcement. It’s nice to be back discussing P-Bandai’s latest shenanigans after we cover all the recent retail release announcements.
However.
Today, we’re diving into a rare treat- a Gunpla release from a line we thought Bandai had wrapped up some time ago. It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen anything new from this particular line, making this announcement all the more exciting.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 RGM-79LV GM Night Seeker II (HGOriginsMSD)

Release Date: September 2024
Estimated price: JPY 2,860 (MYR 83.91* / USD 17.81* / EUR 16.67*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Frankly, we are surprised to see a new HGOriginsMSD in 2024. We thought after they completed the release of all the kits for the HGCDI series, P-Bandai would want to refocus on releasing more HGCE (from the SEED FREEDOM movie) and HGTWFM P-Bandai exclusives.
But it seems that P-Bandai still has more to offer to the HGOriginsMSD line because today they just announced the HGOriginsMSD GM Night Seeker II.
Basically, it’s the less armored version of the GM Night Seeker.

When we say less, we mean they just omitted the shoulder armor for this version compared to the standard version.
But to say that is the only thing this version gets is not really the case because, at the same time, you also get a different decal set for this version, an additional machine gun, and a new color scheme.
Speaking of the HG Night Seeker II’s color scheme, their new color scheme on this version made the GM Night Seeker II look a proper badass. Admittedly, we all loved the color scheme we got with the HG GM Night Seeker, but the blue, white, and black combo combined with the new decal set makes the GM Night Seeker II look a million times better than the previous version.

However, the rest of this is the same as the standard version. As we said earlier, the only thing new here is that P-Bandai only omitted the shoulder armor to make it look slightly different from the previous version.
But then again, is it such a bad thing, especially when it comes from a line of kits that has released banger after banger so far?
We don’t think so.
If there is one thing that we are bothered about, this will be a tad bit hard to get since it is getting that P-Bandai treatment. We might have to fight tooth and nail to get this one.

That concludes our 555th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We are glad that P-Bandai is still churning out new HGOriginsMSD kits, even though they are more and less just the same ones we got previously.
However, we wonder if there are still more MSV kits to modernize, which is an exciting thought.
Anyhow.
