Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.558

A Dakka Storm

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 558th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll examine one of P-Bandai’s recent Gunpla release announcements! We know that Bandai didn’t just announce one kit this week, but we decided to focus on one first and continue on the other in the next post.

This way, we can analyze this release, especially when getting an MG kit that looks this badass.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

MG 1/100 Gundam Stormbringer P.F (MG)

Release Date: August 2024
Estimated price: JPY 7,590 (MYR 221.20* / USD 47.01* / EUR 43.45*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, this is the kit that most of us (including the scalpers and Gunpla resellers) look forward to the most. We imagine that even those who already own the standard and FA versions would want to get this.

Why?

Well, it would be because of its good looks.

The MG Stormbringer PF looked so good that it would attract even those new to this hobby—that is how we here think this kit looked.

The reason is that we finally get a proper upgrade to the Standard Stormbringer as opposed to what we get with the FA version. Now we get an MG Stormbringer that looks like a proper up-armored and up-gunned version instead of slapping a new backpack unit and color scheme (like we get with the FA) and calling it a day.

So, what upgrades does this version have versus what you get with the previous versions?

Well, you get a new armor mold for the shoulder, the waist, and the leg units. You also get an additional armor piece attached to the chest armor. Also, you retain the same FA Backpack cannon for this version.

Best of all, you get one of Philip Hugh’s GM Dominance sentry guns with this. However, you’re not getting a sentry gun attached to a tripod (or a stand) or on the Stormbringer’s backpack; you are getting that badass sentry gun attached to the MG Stormbringer PF’s arm unit.

Yes, you are getting a big dakka on the MG Stormbringer PF’s arm unit!

Admittedly, it looks unwieldy, stupid, heavy, and impractical, but at the same time, it looks utterly badass on the Stormbringer PF.

And we all loved how bonkers it looked! Just seeing that was enough to convince us to get this.

But we know that getting this will take a lot of work since, you know, this is a P-Bandai release, and we are sure many people (including Gunpla scalpers and resellers) would already be targeting it. We already foresee this being out of stock as quickly as we can tap on the shopee buy option. But even with us already knowing, we still look forward to this!

Why?

We felt this would be one of those kits worth getting because we are fans of nonsensical and bonkers kits like this.

Hopefully, we get more crazy kits like this in MG.

That concludes our 558th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. P-Bandai is definitely been busy indeed! Not long after the previous announcement, we are getting another MG announcement!

And now we are finally getting an announcement that most of us here would LOVE to get our hands on. The best part is we might not have to wait long to get this one since it is coming in this August!

But that is not the only kit that P-Bandai announced; we also have another one from the HGTWFM line, which we will discuss in this coming Saturday’s blog post!

Anyhow.

We’ll return in the upcoming segment this Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post! So do look forward to that!
